Out in London tomorrow night (business event). Is it black tights & boots season yet?

Going to London (City) for business event tomorrow night. No jeans etc . Was planning to wear a dress.

Given the weather has changed a bit, are people back in black tights & boots? Will I stick out in black tights and boots with a chunky heel? Thanks

I too can’t wait for tights and boots season but, sadly, we’re not there yet. If you really want to wear tights go for very sheer nude, black would be odd I think.

I'm going to a business even in London tonight and I was thinking exactly the same. Have a black dress and thinking it's cold enough for tights and boots. Definitely seems cold for bare legs.

Noooo, you'll be boiling. It's going to be 19 degrees tomorrow - black tights season is below 14 degrees, I reckon. Not until October or even November some years.

I would probably go for a midi dress so you've got a bit of length and don't need to fake tan (which you don't need to do anyway, but whatever). Or trousers that aren't jeans? I'm wearing wide-legged black trousers today with a very light knit jumper and am comfortable. Tomorrow looks warmer.

You really, really don't need to fake tan just to expose a leg! The joy of London is you can't really be dressed wrong because there are so many people, so many styles are represented. In general though, I see a lot more fake tan when I visit my in-laws' country town than I do here.

Edit to add it was 15 degrees this morning and I wished I had my winter coats out

According to BBC weather, by 8pm it will be 15 tonight and 14 tomorrow!

Going against the grain, I'd wear black tights. They've definitely come out in my office in the last week.

It's getting colder this week. In Central London it will be about 10 or 11 degrees late evening tomorrow. It will be windy during the day but easing off during the evening.
The nights will be much colder later in the week.

I am revising my opinion. The wind is chilly! I just went out at lunchtime and definitely would have been cold in bare legs.

I think bare legs and chunky boots looks really odd. As if you'd forgotten to pack opaque tights or packed the wrong footwear.

Fake tan is a gazillion times more unattractive than black tights. There is zero reason not to wear black tights.

I did it! Went in black tights and boots. Came in from outside London and it was a bit warmer than expected - but not much. Saw plenty of boots around.
