Vinted beware

Slimbsll2002 · 08/09/2024 20:02

It’s now the second time I have been scammed on Vinted and they are not interested. I have lost over £200 and Vinted say sorry can’t help. From experience I would tell people to avoid and use Evay at least your protected. 😡

How were you scammed?

GinForBreakfast · 08/09/2024 20:09

What happened?

I only use Vinted for low value purchases. £10 is my limit.

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 08/09/2024 20:12

I have heard too many stories to buy any designer clothes/items on vinted (or any resale site to be fair.)

I’ve set myself a £30 max limit for any vinted item. On the grounds that beyond that I want the option of returning it if it’s not suitable for me, even if genuine.

so far the only item I’ve got that wasn’t as advertised was a top that cost me £6 including delivery. Everything else was as sold.

Chewbecca · 08/09/2024 20:13

What happened? It would help other people to avoid the same scam if you can give some details.

Doggymummar · 08/09/2024 20:14

Sorry this happened whatever it was. But there are millions of transactions that go well.

Mojodojocasahous · 08/09/2024 20:15

I feel like I’ve been scammed by this thread - I open it and no details?

<What is with all the Vinted bashing this weekend?>

SauviGone · 08/09/2024 20:15

It'd be really helpful if you would explain how, exactly, you've been scammed.

Any time I've raised an issue with Vinted it's been resolved in my favour so I'm curious to know what happened.

How were you scammed?

When you buy on Vinted they make you pay protection on top, well they have no interest on helping.
First item I bought a watch for £300 and it came faulty and didn't work so I contacted vinted and they said sorry cant help.Second was a £70 pair of Cp shorts and it said delivered but I didn't get it from yodel and Vinted said sorry and closed the case. Now I'm in contact with Yodel and my credit card company.Ebay is much safer.

How does that happen, because I thought your money is only released when you click that everything is ok? Is that not the case?

Re the watch, that’s just a risk that Vinted is not really designed to protect against.

in terms of something not being delivered, I had something recently that got lost in transit and I got a refund.

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 09/09/2024 20:30

But did you click to say it had been delivered and all good? I thought they didn’t release the money to the seller until that has happened.

Are you a bot OP? You are replying to every post with the same words Grin

seedsandseeds · 09/09/2024 20:47

Why have you reposted 6x?

SauviGone · 09/09/2024 20:48

This is some kind of bot/AI thread isn't it.

Ladybugger · 09/09/2024 20:51

There have been so many weird anti-Vinted messages this weekend, I think it must be a bit or something other automated thing...
