33 year old going to hen night next weekend and don't want to feel 'mumsy'

Please help me - I'm 33, size 20, 5ft 11. I'm going to a hen night in Nottingham next weekend, and am the only Mum going. We're going for dinner, then cocktails and then onto a 'cheesy' club. I really don't know what to wear. I'm desperate not to feel too 'mumsy' or 'frumpy'. I don't even know what people wear to going clubbing anymore, as it's been so long - are jeans acceptable?

Does anyone have any ideas?

There are some gorgeous smocks on Oli but all out of stock or too long delivery times, unfortunately. I should have tyhought about this earlier really.

Thanks for all your help everyone, I really do appreciate it

I have found some quite nice brown linen trousers in M&S which would probably be ok. I'm now wondering whether to try the tunic and leggings idea. If they look terrible then I can always go back to the red top. What do you think of this?

I love all those shoes Daisy, but I haven't worn heels for so long that I think wedges would be safer . Thanks for all your help btw

I love that tunic. If only I weren't sporting what looks like a 6mo pregnant bump!

barrats have a section of size 10 shoes and long tall sally have some low heels/flats.

I can imagine at 5'11" you must be huge in heels anyway

FrazzledFairyFay · 19/04/2008 21:11

that's true but i think i'd like to go quite glam so will have a loom at lts and barratts. I might alos get some brown boots with a heel. Thank goodness i can send some of this back!

I have ordered that tunic, some black leggings and some heeled brown boots, all from Simply Be. fingers crossed they'll arrive in time but if not then i can return them. Thanks again

That will look lovely

FrazzledFairyFay · 19/04/2008 21:44

Thanks Colditz, I really hope so. I thought leggings and boots were a compromise as I can't quite face 'getting my legs' out properly

They'll look great I'm sure, FFF. Sorry the Oli stuff isn't in on time - I must learn to read posts properly!
