As the title suggests - I am approaching 49 and a size 14 (perimenopausal y
so you can imagine my body shape !) I am looking for something to take me into winter but are Uggs too young for me ? My teenage daughters are getting some so don’t want to look like I am trying to be young ! Honest opinions please

I hope not … I still wear mine and I’m in my late 50s. No one has ever suggested they may be inappropriate footwear for me ( wouldn’t care if they did, Uggs are comfortable). Don’t wear them in heavy rain though as not waterproof.

I see every age woman wearing them, my mum is in her late 60s and purchased a pair last year. Whilst I'd say they're super comfortable and cosy, I wouldn't recommend them as being suitable for winter, they've not got the best grip and take forever to dry out when they get wet which they do easily even in light rain or snow.

I'd recommend these

im a similar age and love them. Every year I promise myself I’ll buy some genuine ones, but always end up buying fakes as I can’t justify the cost! But this year I really am going to buy genuines - just need to choose a colour. Go for it OP!

Absolutely not too old. I’m older than you and wear them when it’s really cold and have done for years.

in fact I’ve worn my UGG leather snow boots for probably about ten.

Wear what you like and feels comfortable to you. I hate age-based dressing, whatever that is. Who decides that exactly? And when is the cut-off? Is one thing ok at 29 but hit 30 and suddenly it’s 🫢?

Decision made - I am getting some !

Oooh they are kind of ridiculous but so comfy and I love them. I was always jealous of the girls who had them when I was at uni, so I bought some a couple of years ago. I’m really tempted to get a flatform mini pair as I wrecked mine in the rain last year. But I’m 36, almost 6ft and pregnant, so I’m worried I’ll just wobble over.

GapTshirtsAreShitQualityTheseDays · 09/09/2024 20:03

They are supposedly very bad for your feet (no support) so I keep mine for indoors only.

lowlight · 09/09/2024 20:07

Great for indoors. I have banned myself from wearing them out and about as they are a bit sloppy and slovenly and I felt self conscious that I looked liked a slob.

DitzyDerbyBabe86 · 09/09/2024 20:09

I really don’t think they have an age limit. I wear mine all the time in winter (as long as no rain / snow) and they’re super comfy and toasty as hell. I love them! And as far as I’m concerned, stylish 😎

When you buy quality ones, you won't need to replace every year

unsync · 09/09/2024 20:16

Not too old, but be aware the quality has really tanked. My old pairs are still going strong, but the ones with the new blended wool insides are garbage after a few months of wear. It's put me right off getting any from them and I have been looking at the Aussie manufacturers.

Twilightstarbright · 09/09/2024 20:17

I adore mine.
