Even if only 10% pay that's still an amazing income

My online calculator can't work out 172000 people paying £3 per month. Isn't that in the region on half a million a month?

Yes, but to convert all your followers into subscribers would be a big ask. There will be heaps of followers who were casual fans but won’t be engaged enough to pay for this content (me, for example).

RFP also has quite fixed views on certain polarising issues within royal fandom (not just her, to be fair, most of the well-known accounts fall on one side or other of the line) and that might also mean several people who like the pictures won’t want to pay for her content - she’s been quite clear that she prefers not to have certain opinions expressed via her content.

But - having said that, if you get it right, the small amount per month subscription model works brilliantly. If you look at a successful podcast like The Rest Is History that has a subscriber and a non-subscriber option - they have more than 12,000 subscribers that have joined their online Discord community. I presume they have more subscribers who haven’t joined that, as it’s entirely optional. Anyway, at their £5 a month subscription, that’s more than £700k a year just in that revenue source…

Yes just a bit longer and it'll be perfect! I do like a beard, and I think William looks good when he wears one.

I suspect William always wanted a beard but it used to be banned in Military uniform and he now does quite a few of the Investiture ceremonies. I suspect that now the rules have relaxed in the Army that he has decided to go for it. In a few more months it will be fully formed. I loved that he invited the young lady Liz to fulfill one of her bucket list dreams to take photos at a State occasion. He is going to be a great King when his time comes.

The facial hair rules have recently changed in RAF, DH is contemplating going beardy again.

Sophie in an Erdem rewear and I love it.

The shape and cut of that dress is perfect on Sophie. I don't love the print though.

KillingMeDeftIy · 04/10/2024 18:29

It's a good shape but a weird not quite midi, not quite maxi length. I'd prefer it if it was shortened by a few inches.

Edited

Didn't we call it ballerina length once upon a time?

I love it on Sophie

Eaumyword · 04/10/2024 22:08

Ooh I like it too! Not an Erdem fan usually but that is great.

Serenster · 05/10/2024 10:08

I love that Erdem dress on Sophie and would happily steal it for my wardrobe. I’d also steal the dresses Mary wore in Brasilia recently - the lovely embroidered Vilshenko dress (Charlene has this too I think?) and a pale blue and white striped shirt waisted dress.

Sophie's dress would've looked better with boots, I think. Works better with that length. More of Mary. Shoe change in one outfit - think it works better with the trainers. Love the dotted dress.

Oh just seen you've posted the shirt dress too, @Serenster! 😊

SqueakyDinosaur · 05/10/2024 10:24

I love how Mary is really leaning into being queen. She seems to be enjoying it in the same way Max does.

Serenster · 05/10/2024 10:27

That brown polka dot outfit is Diane von Furstenberg separates that Mary must love - she’s worn it 5 times or so over the last few years! (It is lovely, I agree).

gingercat02 · 05/10/2024 10:29

Another Erdem hater here, but Sophie's dress is lovely. I like that length, but I'm tall.and nothing is ever long enough!
Mary seems to love being Queen, I think Kate will be excellent personally and fashion wise once she is too.
Was lovely to see her hugging the girl on the week, it looked so natural 😍

AllTangledUpInMyMonkeyNutNecklace · 05/10/2024 10:30

I think she's a very driven woman and likes to be busy. In the video about her that the children did for her never-ending 50th Birthday celebrations 😉 they mentioned that she is very meticulous about her work, that she strives to do everything to the very best of her ability and that she has always modelled a good work ethic. Not in those exact words, obviously - I'm paraphrasing in more adult terms. But it came across that she is highly invested in doing a good job. So I think she's probably happy to be able to flex even more now that she doesn't need to worry about stepping on any toes when it comes to protocol.

I think Mary has taken a leaf out of Daisy's book and is ploughing through as an independent woman confidently.

Yes and Daisy has said that one of the things she really liked about Mary was that she was not afraid of being her own person - even in the beginning when they first met she apparently wasn't overly obsequious - and had a quiet but formidable confidence that would serve her well in the role. I think they are very similar but in that way where it doesn't end up with them both at loggerheads as it often can. They have always seemed to really like each other and get on well.

Ah good to know! I think I shall trawl eBay/Vinted/whatever hoping to come across it for a steal!

I read it as the fashion IDs will be hidden unless you are a subscriber but the unsubscribed will still see some posts of more general royal news/opinion.

Might be wrong though, I guess we'll soon find out!

KillingMeDeftIy · 05/10/2024 13:56

The brown polka dot dress reminds me of the dress Julia Roberts wore to the polo (or was it races?) in Pretty Woman.

KillingMeDeftIy · 05/10/2024 13:58

Not sure why RFP took down all her old posts. Surely that was more work than just leaving them up? Unless there's a quick change to settings you can make that suddenly only shows posts to subscribers.

OH yes I remember now, she looked gorgeous in that outfit, was it for the Polo?

Well I'll leave it for now, see what happens.

Personally I think she'd be better to lean on the designers for income, with links to their websites. They'll pay her for that. We're just the end users. Erdem and the like are laughing all the way to the bank when she posts links for free.
