Boots for autumn winter

I desperately need to update my wardrobe and really want a pair (or two) of black boots that will go with lots of things and see me through. I previously have muddled through with trainers, then wellies for walking the dog. I want something I can wear day to day, and to work. Work clothes are casual.

Can anybody recommend comfortable but nice looking black ankle type boots, that will go with trousers or maybe jeans.

Budget?
Are you looking for Doc Marten or Doc Marten style? Or "mum boots" ? Or high fashion ?

I have these, although wear with dresses and skirts, don't wear jeans or trousers. I wouldn't wear them to walk the dog if that involved somewhere muddy or very wet.

I actually have no idea. I like those but I think maybe something chunkier. I’m not sure I can pull off the normal docs with my style because of what they go with but they have some Chelsea type ones I like the look of. I’m worried they’re not comfy though.

@IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle i love those boots. How do you find them?

A wide selection of boots here - they are pricey but do last. I have the Derby boots which are really comfy.

They're both very comfortable, and were from day one.

I'm planning to buy my second pair of these. Had a pair for about six years and they were so comfy. Doc Martens I replaced them with didn't last as long so going back to Fly. I wear them with everything!
