Anyone on mumsnet had a boobjob?

I have decided to have a breast enlargement and wondered if anyone here has had one and can offer me any advice? I have seen a really good surgeon who has agreed to do the surgery and I'm not too worried but I wondered if anyone can say how long they were out of action for (picking up dc's and driving etc). Also, how did you approach telling people? I think this is the thing that I worry about most of all as until recently I have always been against this kind of surgery so the whole thing embarrasses me a bit. However, I am really looking forward to it. I am completely flat chested (not even a AA cup) so I can't wait to be able to buy bra's that fit and swimming costumes etc. Thanks anyone for any advice.

Well, I didn't care pre babies as I was slim, but now I'm larger and hate the fact I'm completely out of proportion.

wasn't she the one whose boob exploded on a plane?

TigerFeet · 18/04/2008 12:40

A friend of mine is AA and would like a boob job - I can understand where she is coming from as she struggles to find things to wear that dont sag at the front or make her look like a boy.

Another friend has a C cup and wants one and I have no idea why.

I would love a reduction myself!

I know someone who has had a reduction and was very happy with the results, no regrets at all.

its just the risk of surgery when you have children aswell but i think i am biased because my sister died of a complication of a routine surgery
not trying to scare anyone or anything

Fullmoonfiend · 18/04/2008 12:42

I'd have one if there was a gurantee it would be ok, and no leakage or terrible scars etcd.

I'm not even an AA cup either I have to buy AA as it's the smallest bra I can find and the cups are still empty. I told the surgeon I'd like to go to a B cup but he explained due to my frame I should go up to a C cup.
