Best budget makeup brands

I've cut down on how much I spend on makeup and have found some brilliant budget brands. Would love to get more recommendations though. Here are my favourite brands:

Elf (lipsticks, and moisturiser)
Avon (glimmersticks and eyebrow pencils)
Max Factor (mascara & powder foundation)
Kiko
Pixi

Any more? I'm in the market for a lightweight powder foundation to use on holiday.

Maybelline for liner, mascara and lipsticks.

Maybelline for foundation, concealer and lip crayons. Maybelline is brilliant for pretty much everything.
Elf for eyeshadow sticks, eye shadow pallette, again brilliant all round

W7 genius foundation is very good indeed- lightweight with a satin finish, similar to Armani Silk. MUA lipsticks are good, and the Collection concealer in a tube is brilliant. I'm really liking the ELF lash extender tubing mascara, and ELF halo glow setting powder.

Thanks! Will try some of those.

I can’t remember the exact brands, but I buy eyeshadow crayons, mascara, foundation, lipsticks (okay, clearly everything)! in Primark.

I also buy some designer/expensive brands, but there’s really very little difference in them, especially things like eyeliner and mascara.

Really like W7. Can be found on amazon and in some shops (our local Tesco has a stand). Their genius foundation is fab.

I really like Revolution products.

DanceMumTaxi · 01/09/2024 21:29

I really like:
elf cleansing balm
Rimmel eyebrow stuff
maybelline mascara
loreal bb cream (recent discovery)
lots of beauty pie stuff.

DanceMumTaxi · 01/09/2024 21:30

Never found a good replacement for Clinique moisture surge though.

I really like Revolution products.

Same.

Use their pressed powder, highlighter, bronzer, eyebrow pencil and setting spray.

I’ve been moving over from Clinique & Estée Lauder to Boots No 7. You’ve mentioned powder foundation OP - I love this…https://www.boots.com/no7-mineral-perfection-loose-powder-foundation-10g-10300821

Does this just come in one shade? I like mineral powder foundation but struggle to find one that’s reasonably priced. Got a great one from Primark a couple of years ago but they never have it anymore.

Cerave moisturisers are excellent.

Another vote for Boots No.7!

That’s awesome! I love Elf too. For a lightweight powder foundation, you might want to try Rimmel’s Stay Matte Powder—it’s affordable and works well. Also, Maybelline’s Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder is great for travel. Have you tried anything from NYX? Their products are budget-friendly and worth checking out!

It comes in just the one shade it suits my skin tone and a colleague also uses it but she has very different skin tone to me.

Thanks! I saw there was just one shade on the website but wasn’t sure if the others had sold out. Might give it a try when my current one has run out.

Heading into town tomorrow so will go in Boots and look at some of the foundation suggestions - thanks!
