Any powder exfoliator recommendations please?

Hi all,

I have really sensitive skin (and am quite lazy 😂), so don’t normally use many skincare products, as I’m wary of using anything that will irritate or damage my skin.

I’ve been getting more interested in skincare recently though, and have seen that exfoliators are important to use, even for people with sensitive skin.

So far, I’ve been using a powder exfoliator by Indeed Labs, which has been good so far. I normally get it at Boots, but went to Boots today (to the Westfield Shepherd’s Bush branch in London, so a big branch) and couldn’t find it there. More broadly, I couldn’t actually find any exfoliating products there, which seemed a bit strange!

I’ve now ordered the Indeed Labs on Amazon, but as it’s a bit pricey and doesn’t seem to be widely available, I wondered if anyone on here has any recommendations for other exfoliators that are okay for sensitive skin, please? I’ve tried Pixi Glow Tonic, but it stung and made my skin bright red and I looked awful! I was too scared to persevere after using it a couple of times!

I’ve tried the Dermalogica daily exfoliant but I’ll be honest, I preferred the indeed labs one!

Thanks for replying. That’s interesting to hear! I once tried the Dermalogica one in a facial years ago. I bought it after the facial as it seemed good, but it also feels worth pointing out that I was a student and had more money than sense 😂 I haven't considered buying it since though as it always seemed a bit too expensive, and it looks like it’s actually more expensive than Indeed.

Just out of interest, do you find it easy to get hold of the Indeed Labs one? Do you buy it online or in-store somewhere?

I bought a pack of three on depop ages ago for criminally cheap, maybe a tenner? And it lasted so long that I’ve only just run out! I’ve not looked for more since as I bought the Dermalogica 13g pot and have just been using it sparingly.

I like the Aveeno one,it's very gentle.

Ooh good idea re Depop, I’ll have a look on there. Thanks!

Thanks for the recommendation - I think Aveeno would work well. Is this the one you use (https://www.aveeno.co.uk/face/aveeno-face-exfoliating-cleanser), or do you use another product?

I was going to say the Dermalogica one also. I've started buying some skincare off Vinted as you can usually find new and sealed products for a fraction of the full price

That link doesn't work but it's the Calm and Restore one.

Be mindful of exfoliators that pretend to be physical but are actually chemical

I hadn’t thought of that - thanks. That’s a good point. Do you have any examples?

The tatcha rice polish is one i thought was a physical exfoliant and it turned out not to be. I like the product, but naively thought rice was actually polishing my skin 🤣
