Vinted 'Recommended for you'

Does anyone know if it's possible to change preferences to stop particular items from appearing on the recommended for you page?
I'm getting irrationally irritated by books and other odds and sods appearing - I haven't searched for anything other than clothes, so I'm not sure why they keep popping up for me.
(By the way, I'm a massive bibliophile, but I have my places to go to satiate that particular need!! 😅)
Thanks,
Ags.

Just favourite lots of other things and they'll stop popping up.

It's irritating. My feed was swamped by kids stuff at one point. I don't have children, and have never looked or favourited any children's things.

Haha yes it's annoying....some weird and wonderful things come up on my feed too. I think saving your searches for the things you're most interested in helps with their algorithms?

Would be interesting to know though!

Thanks, everyone. There's comfort in knowing I'm not the only one annoyed 😅😅

It was annoying me too. I spent a while doing lots of searches for things I might like being more specific and it does update. I’ve found some great clothes that way!

AgathaMystery · 31/08/2024 08:45

Honestly my algorithm on there is fucked. All I get is tablecloths and clothing that would make a stripper blush.

Anotherusername2024 · 31/08/2024 08:48

Have you tricked
Profile
Personalisation
And then it gives you options you can select sizes etc so if you go through putting your preferences in I wonder if this would solve this?

agapanthus1979 · 31/08/2024 08:52

@Anotherusername2024 I've selected preferences. The odd thing is, it's random books and such things that seem to come up, rather than clothes I wouldn't like.
There doesn't seem to be an option to 'opt out' of seeing such things.
So odd as I've never searched for/clicked on/shown any sort of interest in books on there.

How odd!

henlake7 · 31/08/2024 09:05

same for me. Ive saved preferences, favourites, etc (all womens clothes) and still I get random books or kids toys pop up.
I wonder if it picks up items from sellers you've favourited?
