daith piercing questions

anyone with a daith piercing?

How long does it take to heal. My helix took forever. does it heal quicker?

Also, can you wear earphone with it - the little ones that go into the ear?

And how bad does it hurt? I found my conch pretty bad and imagine it a lot worse.

I haven't got a daith, but I have got a rook which is similar. My conch is by far the most unpleasant piecing to actually get done.

I think the healing time is OK as it doesn't get as knocked as on the outside of your ear, although cartilage always takes a while.

I want my daith on the other ear. The jewellery you can put in is so pretty.

My daith was very easy but it came out because it migrated. Get them to check suitability for your ear anatomy.

My daith was one of the easier piercings I had. Settled quickly but I did sleep on a hollow/o shaped pillow so maybe that helped. It hurt for about a week but really wasn't bad at all.

Yes, I can still wear my AirPods. I only have a small ring in it so it doesn't get in the way at all.

Mine took nearly a year but I think that was partly due to the ring that was used. The ball on it seemed to cause it to hang funny. As soon as I changed it to something lighter, it started healing properly. I love it now and haven’t had a migraine since!

DD has pretty crowded ears but is okay with in ear AirPods. They all healed fairly quickly and she was quite diligent with the spray from the piercers to keep them clean.

It was pretty easy and healed on the surface pretty well. I kept getting a lump above the piercing for the first year but it's settled down since and been fine for about 8years now.

I can wear earphones but not straight away, it was a bit too sore for a few weeks. I have a bar in mine so have to push it right up, maybe I need a shorter one actually...

soupfiend · 24/08/2024 08:38

I was persuaded to get one of these many years ago by a colleague who took me to the peircing shop, it was to stop/minmise my migraines

Didnt work and all it did do was hurt when I laid on that side to sleep (Im a side sleeper), Finally took it out yesterday and wondered why I hadnt years ago.

I have both done. Easiest cartilage piercings to heal IMO - my helix takes forever.... These took about 6wks each to be pretty much fully healed.

I found it's really easy and healed quickly.

Thanks all. It's mostly reassuring. I may go for it.
