Cleansing balm recommendations

Hi, looking for a non spendy cleansing balm recommendation. I've been using the Aldi hot cloth cleanser but they don't seem to be doing it at the moment. I've also used the bodyshop chamomile cleanser but no bodyshop near me now and it's out of stock on line. So any other recommendations in that sort of price range? Thanks!

I like Emma Hardie and The Body Shop camomile one. However, I prefer Inky List oat cleanser. Only niggle is that half of it stays at the top of the tube and I end up cutting it to extract loads of dregs... that aside, prefer it as a product.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/08/2024 16:44

Marks and Spencer own brand There’s a rose one , I have one in a teal blue tub .

I tried the Superdrug own brand but it was unperfumed to the point of smell8ng “off”

I use Lush Ultra Balm. If I stop using it for any reason I notice my skin deteriorate

PragmaticDramatic · 23/08/2024 18:10

Home Bargains have a camomile one in at the moment for £1.99 or something like that.

Riverhousepuppy · 23/08/2024 18:30

Another vote for inkey list

Moredarkchocolateplease · 23/08/2024 18:56

Don't bother with Inkey list, it separates horribly and you either get gritty bits or oil.
I use REN that I buy on amazon. I also like Emma Hardie but it's pricier.

Also a big fan of the aldi hot cloth cleanser tho. I use balm in the same way, rub it on and then wipe it off with a hot flannel.

Yes, I really liked this. If I remember correctly, I stopped using it because the 2 local Lush shops closed down

I currently use one called ‘Mayo’ in a yellow bottle with a pump. It’s Korean skincare brand, available on Amazon (for convenience)

The Body Shop also do a very nice Camomile one. The big tin lasts ages!

The Superdrug Vitamin E one is great and cheap. I switched from Liz Earle and I actually prefer it. Lots of beauty bloggers recommend it.

Love Lush Ultrabalm.
Easy to order online these days.

Notellinganyone · 23/08/2024 19:37

@Pralie and @ViewFromMySeat - do you mean Ultrabalm or Ultrabland? I used ultra land but found it a bit sticky.

Omgwhatthehell · 23/08/2024 19:39

I also recommend the M&S rose one. I absolutely love the Emma Hardie one but just can’t justify the price.

Yes! I used the inkey one it was disgusting

Fourmagpies · 23/08/2024 19:45

I like the soap and glory balm.

nothernexposure · 23/08/2024 19:46

Thanks everyone, loads of great suggestions. I have got easy access to an M&S, Superdrug and Lush so can see what's in stock. Loved the Emma hardie one as well but too £££!

You’re right it’s Ultrabland. I used to use it too & can’t remember why I stopped! Maybe for the same reason.

Allthecatseverywhereallatonce · 23/08/2024 19:57

Bioma does a lovely balm. I like this brand as it has minimal ingredients focussing on the skin biome.

MollyRover · 23/08/2024 20:02

I like the revolution oat squalane one, got it because it was cheaper than the inkey list one.

Giraffesareawesome · 23/08/2024 19:41

Yes Superdrug vitamin E is a good one but as pp mentioned I currently really like this from M&S.

Yes yes to this M&S one. Similarly can’t justify Emma Hardie prices, but this comes really close. Lovely smelling balm which leaves skin clean and feels luxurious.

Aworldofmyown · 23/08/2024 20:36

This one is in M&S too, I prefer it to the rose one. https://www.marksandspencer.com/glow-illuminating-cleansing-balm-150ml/p/hbp60534996

Oops sorry I meant Ultrabland too.

I find it best to put a pea size blob on my hands and then massage it into my face. It comes off beautifully with a warm cloth and leaves my skin super soft.

You can buy it on vinted

Soap & Glory do a great value cleansing balm, lasts ages and works really well.

BeFluentNavyBee · 26/08/2024 07:44

@70isaLimitNotaTarget Which M&S one is in the teal tub please? I've had a look but can't see one! Thank you 😊

Sorry yes, ultra bland!

I’ve made expensive mistakes by trying recommendations to find they didn’t suit my skin, so it is a bit trial and error!
