Any piercing experts here?

I had my snug pierced when I was a teenager and really like the piercing, but I’m not happy with the placement.

The photo with the blue arrow is what I wanted it to look like - just straight across.

The other photo is similar to what mine looks like, it’s at a slant. Mine looks worse tbh - it’s more slanted where the exit location is much lower than the entry location. Is there anything I can do to correct this, and is it worth it?

I’m thinking I could get it pierced again, but would I need to wait for my current piercing to close up? As I’ve had it for over 10 years, I’m not sure if it will close up. I want it in the same ear/same spot.

Not an expert but it might have a lot to do with your ear’s anatomy, where the more fibrous cartilage is
Does it make a difference with different jewellery.

I'm not sure I’d want to go through healing and re piercing , you’d be going through even more fibrous tissue

Thanks. I’ve just looked back through photos as it was always pierced like that, so it hasn’t migrated. Maybe it is something to do with me ear. What’s shocking though is that my ear with the snug piercing now looks completely different to my ear without the snug piercing, like that area of cartilage looks swollen still even though it was pierced a long time ago!

OP, you may get more advice if you repost on the tattoo section which also covers piercings.

It has a smaller following than S&B, but the lovely women on there are fonts of knowledge.

You may be able to use the inner piercing hole and have a new hole pierced on the outer rim, it depends on your anatomy.

It's hard to say without seeing your anatomy. It's not impossible but you would really need a consultation to say to sure.

Can you take it out and replace it? A slightly shorter bar would look better, I think.
