Help finding funeral shoes

After the sadly coming home from a funeral today I’ve decided I must buy some comfortable flat formal (probably black) shoes for the next funeral or formal occasion I need to go to.

i live in trainers for work and home and now with a repeated ankle break injury and plantar fascitus I cannot wear any sort of heel or wedge (despite yet again convincing myself I would be fine for just one day!).

can anyone recommend a pair of timeless but not frumpy flat formal black shoes please?

Fitflop do very plain comfy flat shoes often on offer somewhere or vinted eBay etc . The sizing varies a lot across the styles.they are not the height of fashion but very simple and unarguable black shoes in my opinion . Oh and they are comfortable ( I live in trainers )

I'm happy with mine , for smarter wear or I wear leather Mary Janes that are flat.
Fitflop have lots of styles some are jazzier than others
