Nail Varnish, base coat and top coat recomendations

I love painted nails. Have the Mylee set for gels which I use for holidays when I really want it to last and busy times when I don't want to worry about it chipping and needing to be removed properly.

But I also have a massive collection of regular polish (loved a BarryM when I was into nail art). I'd like to start using that a bit more as its kinder on my vitamin deficient flakey nails. Having got used to the long lasting gel I would like to up my game in the base/top coat area to see if I can get a bit longer out of a manicure.

Does anyone have any go to miracle base and top coast for lasting manicures.

Thanks

Sally Hansen diamond shine.

My Polish stays on for at least a week with no chipping whatsoever with this.

Or surprisingly the Rimmel nail nurse 7 in 1 is good too

I haven’t found a top coat that makes a difference, but I have found that regular use of nail oil helps a manicure last.

I use a lot of barry m and always use seche vite topcoat. Don't usually bother with a base oops. Seche vite dries so quickly and gives a gel-like shine.

Sèche Vite top coat.

I remember Seche Vite from nail blogs years ago (pre kids when I had time to play with my nails!) maybe I will give that a go.

I love the Kiko gel topcoat, my nails are good as new after 2 weeks.

For base coat I think any old one will do, they're all much of a muchness - a rimmel one is good.

I use Seche Vite for the quick dry but need another top coat because otherwise individual nails have a tendency to peel off paint in one go! I use Sally Hansen or Nails Inc

Seche Vite. It's brilliant and the top coat dries super quick.

I very gently abrade my nails with a normal emery board horizontally and vertically, rub over with remover and apply Orly rubber bond coat, then 2 coats of polish then Sally Hansen top coat. No chips and lasts as long as I need to redo it due to growth.

I use a cheap four-sided buffer from Amazon and products from The Manicurist. They have a diagnostic tool on the website to help you choose the right products for your nail type and the look you’re going for.

Maybelline 7 day - a recommendation on here and it’s really good

I like Nailberry. So easy to put on for a clumsy oaf like me. It comes in beautiful colours and leaves my nails in great condition. Love it!

I like Jessica Brilliance top coat and I use their fusion base coat.

Seche Vite is always recommended but I always found it shrunk on my nails so it didn’t last.
