Trousers for Autumn/Winter

I'm looking for some inspiration for A/W trousers. Previously I've lived in leggings or skinny jeans and boots of some kind with a sweatshirt or hoodie, I'd like to move away from that and have been wearing straight or slim leg ankle grazer jeans but unsure about when the weather gets colder what I will wear!

Thank you 😊 I'm thinking about outfits I could style them with, and footwear. I'm so used to wearing skinny jeans or leggings and boots over the top. In the warmer weather I've been wearing trainers. I've seen on Pinterest Dr martens with straight leg jeans but I can't seem to get them to look right on me!

Not being snarky - is there a reason you can't wear trainers in autumn/winter (unless it's actually snowing or absolutely lashing down, of course)? I wear mainly wider jeans and trainers all year round. I like the Levi's 90s 501 jeans and Levi's "baggy dad" jeans, and wear them with Adidas Sambas, Spezialsz, SL72s or NB 574s - the 574s and SLs don't work in the rain but the others are 100% leather so are fine.

A typical autumn outfit for me would be jeans, trainers, socks that are "part of the outfit" (I really like the chunky ribbed Arket ones which come in lots of colours) and a sweatshirt with a white tee layered underneath it so you can see the collar peeping out and maybe the hem at the bottom of the sweatshirt. Gold hoops, chunky chain, leather jacket - done! I do also have DM boots which I wear with jeans.

In terms of alternative trousers that are not jeans, how about cords? I got chocolate brown wide-leg cords from Hush last year which are fab, and also some ankle grazer cord Levi's ribcage in a blue colour which are annoyingly hard to wear top-wise but I am determined to crack it this year.

I'm in the same situation. Lived in skinny jeans and leggings forever. The only jeans I've found that I like are 'slim fit mom' jeans. But what shoes do you wear?? I feel like a look like a mess with trainers on. Boots I have don't seem to look right. Will those Ugg clog things be in again this winter? Maybe lace up boots? I'm going to miss wearing flip flops!

Cos, Toast, Poetry all have trousers with some wool. But I wear cords most of the time and don't see them as too casual.

As for non Doc Martens boots, Lanx have fabulous lace ups, as do M&S and there are loads of options on Fitflop.
