H&M tiny sizing or am I deluded?

I ordered some jeans in a 12 which I tend to be everywhere else but these have arrived and are literally like a size 8. Am I being deluded and bigger than I am or are they super tiny?

No, I've always found alot of H & Ms sizing off for years. I used to think I was kidding myself on when I was overweight but I'm now a definite size 8 everywhere except H & M, where some of their items are still tiny.

Were they the divided range? That range is tiny.

Yes they are actually. I mean I’m deffo on the larger 12 and did get a pair of 14 denim shorts from primark recently but these jeans are almost child size. Deffo starting the diet now :)

I think divided is aimed at teens (hence the teeny tiny sizes) but I always check and order a couple of sizes up in that range!

Phew that is good to know. I am overweight almost and need a diet but this almost broke me haha

I'm a 28 waist in Levi's, size 10 across the board and I usually take a size 14 in H&M jeans. I've returned even some of them for being too small.

I think H&M varies. I get my normal 14 or large in dresses and tops from there.
Some jeans last year were a size 20.

I just found a dress I have by them in a small and it’s huge as oversized… so odd

I find their tops massive and their bottoms tiny.

I find that H&M isn't even consistent across its range. Some size 12 fit me fine, others there are tiny. It's most unhelpful.

I do find H&M small. However, sizing has gone bonkers over the years. Back in the day, 30 odd years ago I was a teen (18) with an eating disorder. I was 6st 7lb (am 5ft 4in) and my wardone was mainly size 6-8. I’m 11st 7lb now. And a size 12, but still fit into some size 10s. So maybe H& M have not kept up with the vanity sizing of other stores! (Yes M&S- I’m looking at you!!)

I find h&m sizing baffling. Sometimes I buy something and it is tiny, so I size up to large. Then I pick up a large next time and it's like wearing a tent. I hate the inconsistency and I don't think it's limited to the divided range.

I don't buy stuff from there anymore as the sizing is wildly inconsistent. That said, everywhere else is vanity sized. I can't fit into my size 12 stuff from ten years ago but I'm a 12 in virtually every high street store now.

Same. I bought a size Medium top yesterday and it’s absolutely huge, yet I have to size up in bottoms.

Their sizing is even more off than Zara. Although, Zara was where I nearly bought a faux leather jacket some years ago. I’m tall and both long limbed and long in the torso so I’m used to sizing up above 12 for sleeves. The jacket in question just fitted and was sized XL.

In H and M I mostly buy socks. Their basic t shirts were great circa early 00s but haven’t worked for me in years.

I tried some leggings from h and m and couldn't get my leg in. I'm a size 10-12 yet can be a size 8 or 6 in next. The sizing is all over the place I often just order or try a whole host of sizes these day.

I find the numerical sizing to be rubbish but the things in XS - XL seem more true to size (or even a little large).
