I have a keratin treatment done every 3 months or so and therefore use sulfate & paraben free shampoo to maintain the integrity of the treatment. Currently using NYK1, which is brilliant btw.
But the keratin treatment lightens my hair quite a bit, so 3-4 times a year I have it coloured to restore it closer to my natural colour (mid / dark brown). Problem is, after a while, my hair gets some real brassy strands to it and definitely so after the keratin.
I’ve read that for brown hair you should use blue shampoo to tone brassiness. I’m struggling to find a sulfate & paraben free one other than Redken Brownlights which seems to have been discontinued.
There are quite a lot of purple shampoo (sulfate free at least) for blonde and grey hair, but it doesn’t say anything about using on brown hair.
Can anyone offer some decent advice? Can I use purple shampoo on brown hair? Any other suggestions??
