Cheaper quality Birkentock alternatives?

Are there any?
Am a recent convert to their classic style - courtesy of George at Asda! - but want to find a more durable pair. Can't justify the cost of actual Birkenstocks. Any other brands worth looking at, or should I just wait for a sale?
TIA

I'm waiting for the sale.
No other brand (that I have found) have the same quality as Birkenstocks and fall apart pretty easily.

The closest in looks and quality are Scholls. While on holiday recently I saw them for €35 in a sale, but they seem more expensive online. I had them years ago in the Birkenstock style and they lasted well, but TBH, if you can, try to get Birkenstocks - I’ve had my latest pair, white patent, for 6 years!!!! I’ll have to ditch them after this Summer as the cork in the insoles is worn thin, but they are my only Summer footwear and I have walked miles in them.

Buy cheap buy twice!

I have numerous pairs of birkos in various states of wear. The oldest which are now my gardening birkos are 9 years old!

Try TK Maxx, they have loads in similar styles.

But I wasted about 3 years in cheaper styles trying to replace my worn out Madrid's, all either cut my feet or fell apart, and I probably spent double the money. In the end I just bit the bullet and bought another 'proper' pair.

Not "cheap" but cheaper than Birkenstock and really good quality. Mine are on their second summer of hard wear and still look great

And the link would help 🤦‍♀️ I found this at John Lewis & Partners. What do you think? https://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-two-strap-footbed-leather-sandals/p110333131?tmad=c&tmcampid=7&sshare=jlappioss_Y29tLmFwcGxlLlVJS2l0LmFjdGl2aXR5LkNvcHlUb1Bhc3RlYm9hcmQ=

I got some Moshulu earlier this year, really like them and quality is similar to Birkenstock. Not super cheap, but cheaper than Birkenstocks.

I was going to say Moshulu. These are 9-10 years old and have been worn a lot including on the beach, in the sea.

Worth keeping your eye on Vinted over the winter months for unworn boxed pairs people are clearing out, I've had some unseasonal bargains from there.

After filling my suitcase in California outlet shop about 30 years ago thanks to a great exchange rate, I've had various styles and never strayed from the real thing, as I don't think you can beat them for comfort, but I also know people that can't stand them and get rid of brand new ones. Be ready to pounce in boots season!

Seas164 · 18/08/2024 15:46

... Papillo are basically the same thing as Birkenstock, and can sometimes be cheaper as they don't have the same recognisability as a brand.

cocobeaner · 18/08/2024 15:52

I was going to say vinted but someone beat me to it! I got a pair of the big buckle ones from there, which go for more than £100 'new' for £28 the other week and they clearly hadn't been worn outside.

I've had six pairs of birkies I think, my oldest pair are over ten years old and still absolutely fine - I do think they are worth the money IF you get leather. Don't be fooled by that Birko Flor nonsense.

Cushionaire do some excellent dupes - they're on Amazon.

Parrotseatthemall · 18/08/2024 19:36

Biosoft are great I've bought them in TKMaxx for around £15 I bought a second pair to wear when they do wear out but I've worn them solidly for around 5 years now (I have genuine Birkenstocks too but I wear the Biosoft more)
