Am I too old for these?

I really like these but am I too old for them and will they go out of fashion really quickly? Or are they out of fashion already.

I'm 54.

I don't think you're too old for them, they're just shoes. But I do think they're horrid 🤣

The only thing that most people get to old for are nappies, and some people get old and need them again .

I think the converse high top with the slightly flatform sole would be better. Similar thing but a bit less in your face? I don't think this type of shoe is all that comfortable though. And converse wear out really quickly. But there's nothing wrong with wearing a shoe like that in your 50s.

Why would you be too old?

I saw a young woman in a pair the other day. They looked okay but a bit too try hard.

I think there are nicer trainers and boots out there.

I have those! 48. They’re very comfy and add a bit of height so I can reach the back of the fridge 👍🏻
I love them. I guess I’m just careful not to wear anything else too ‘loud’ with them.

I also have those in my basket and will probably end up getting those instead.

I dont think Converse has an age bracket...they are ubiquitous.
High tops and tennis shoes are my go to (Im 51) and I have several pairs of Converse, Rocket Dogs and Vans.

No you're not. Even if you were 99 you wouldn't be. Wear what you like!

They would be too out there for me but the classic Converse hi tops are timeless and ageless.

I’m 48 and the only reason I didn’t buy them is because I’d be taller than my partner when wearing them.

I’m a big fan of dressing with intent, rather than taking the “tasteful” and least obtrusive option. Buy the ones you love.

I think there’s a danger in subduing your taste to meet expectations from the vast majority who are mid at best.
