I've just received these today:

https://www.office.co.uk/view/product/officecatalog/5,353/2156940962??gl=11owhcooupMQ..&gclid=CjwKCAjw2dG1BhB4EiwA998cqOQcAXbXY-hlqSflt6ehDtVIxxgmr1KEmsPVbmZKfvyWIDDvvySWhoC7PYQAvDD_BwE

They seem to have a high arch on them and I'm worried they're going to be quite uncomfortable.

Does anyone else find this, and did they get comfier once worn in?

I really like them and want to get the lucid blue/pink, but thinking we might be incompatible!

I adore mine but they’re definitely not the most comfortable shoes that I’ve owned. I had to put gel heel pads in them for the first month or two whilst they were still being broken in as the blisters were horrendous. Definitely wouldn’t choose them to walk long distances in but they’re fine on a day to day basis.

Loving having colourful shoes again after so many years of plain white!

WithIcePlease · 09/08/2024 00:52

I tried them in store and was so glad. I loathed that arch support and I didn't think they would be comfortable for walking any distance.
I wanted the reddy orange ones.
I bought some orange gola ones from Anthropologie instead which I'm very pleased with.
Nike also do a similar shape with colour combos

I love mine, they are very comfortable, so must be down to foot shape. I did size up half a size.

Drogdab · 09/08/2024 08:11

I love them but I have a very high arch so very comfy for me. Gazelles and Sambas aren’t as high

Globules · 09/08/2024 08:16

I have these.

I love the way they look.

I hate the high arch.

I've worn them out dancing several times, but always have pains from them. I wear my old gazelles from a few years back with a lower arch far more than these, which is sad as I bought these as a replacement, not an additional pair.

When they were first released, there was a "This Morning" slot about them. HW pointed out the high arches in the Adidas.

I have a blue/orange pair and I did find it a bit unusual at first, but I’m used to it now and they are as comfortable as any other adidas. I love wearing them with a dark-coloured outfit for a splash of bright.

GetDownkeith · 09/08/2024 08:21

I think the arch is what makes them comfortable. They give me much better support than something too flat. I walked miles around Edinburgh in mine yesterday.
they do take a bit of breaking in but for me that was the back, that is quite hard and rigid but softer after a few wears.

Thisisthedawningoftheageofaquarius · 09/08/2024 08:31

Absolutely love mine; find them v comfortable. I don’t think the arch support is too big (and is similar to stan smiths I had previously). But I suppose everyone’s feet are different.

JerkintheMerkin · 09/08/2024 10:32

I love mine. Have flat feet but the arch insert is fine and they are so comfy to wear. Like walking on a cloud. Bought a pair of gazelles and am a bit miffed that the arch support is lower. Still love them though.

BringMeTea · 09/08/2024 10:48

I find mine very comfortable. Didn't even require wearing in which is unheard of for me.

Elevenutionary · 09/08/2024 14:45

Love mine. Immediately comfortable and have continued to be comfy. Love them.

Canyoudigityesyoucan · 09/08/2024 14:57

I have a super high arch and even I was concerned when I got them. But two wears in and I don’t even notice them anymore and they’re my most comfortable shoes!

watersofmars · 09/08/2024 16:52

I also have high arches and I thought it was refreshing to have trainers that felt normal for once. However I do think the construction of this year's Handballs is a bit cheap, sole feels a bit thin under the ball of foot. My last pair of Gazelles were better made.

KittyMcKitty · 09/08/2024 17:52

I have lime green and pink ones and yea the arch is more noticeable than gazelles and sambas. I find them comfortable to walk distances in (as I do with my gazelles and sambas). I think the arch beds down over time. I do like them as they look fab. My comfiest trainers are always going to be my NB 530’s.

Snap.

DarkDarkNight · 09/08/2024 20:10

Mine are ok, but they’re not the trainers I would wear for all day wear.

Jeezitneverends · 10/08/2024 14:39

I had the same issue as you with the high arch, I was gutted as I really like the colour ways but I’d have a blister on my instep inside an hour

JustJazzy · 12/08/2024 18:28

I love spezials but do need to remove the arch support or i find them uncomfortable. Its easily removed, take out insoles and remove the piece of foam.
