I am hoping to get out of a big work rut and into a new role in the autumn. I've been wfh since the pandemic, gained weight and feeling very unconfident, so aiming to get myself together a bit before starting to interview.

I have bought a beautiful new suit, it's this one but with the slim cut trousers: https://www.reiss.com/style/su322227/q60904#q60904

I'm looking for a silk blouse to go under it and have a specific idea of a bright yellow-green silk blouse with a v-neck. Something like this colour but with a different neckline:

Oops posted too soon!

Can any stylish MNers help?I just have this idea that that colour would look good but can't find the right shape anywhere online. Sorry for the pixellated photo, it's the best I can find.

Alternatively, I'd love to hear any ideas for another blouse that would look smart but interesting / cheerful. The suit is a warm teal, a little brighter than it looks in the photos. I am a redhead with blue eyes.

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

It's hard to tell exact colours online but this is fairly standard shirt

Or this if you could get the neck tie to sit flat under your suit jacket

Thank you all! Some good suggestions here. I hadn't considered a patterned blouse so will try some patterned options too before deciding.

The sort of brand which does shirts like this are Cefinn (££) or The Fold (££)- you can often find both on eBay

BetteLaSwet · 10/08/2024 10:00

What a stunning suit OP! No suggestions from me re a shirt but that suit is wow.

i wouldn’t go puff sleeves though - think they’ll look bulky.

MouseMinge · 10/08/2024 16:28

Another one with no shirt suggestion but wanting to compliment you on your taste because that suit is just great.

Isometimeswonder · 10/08/2024 17:02

Love the suit. I would buy both styles of trousers, for different footwear.
It's lovely.
Personally, I'd buy a few silky round neck tops in different colours. Next have a few. I like orange or bright pink. And cream for a more neutral tone.

sunnywithmeatbols · 10/08/2024 19:25

@WhatNext24 are the trousers of that suit lined or unlined please?

the Elisabetta franchi top at the zalando link that @skibiditoilet posted is perfect

Greigeisthelatestbeige · 11/08/2024 00:00

The top you posted is beautiful as is the suit.

WhatNext24 · 11/08/2024 15:02

Thanks everyone for the good suggestions. I am working through the links this afternoon.

I also appreciate the compliments on the suit! As mentioned my confidence is at a bit of a low so it's nice to know others like the look.

@sunnywithmeatbols the trousers are unlined. I had to check and was surprised though. They are nice quality and weight and I would have guessed line without checking.

Have a look at The Fold London.
They had some eye-catching lime green silk tops in this season.

WhatNext24 · 11/08/2024 15:05

@Isometimeswonder I nearly bought both styles of trousers but the wide leg are sold out in my size and luckily I prefer the slim cut. I'm a tall hourglass (currently an overweight one) and I think the tapered cut is more flattering.

@BetteLaSwet I agree about avoiding volume under a jacket. It's the colour if the blouse in the picture that I'm looking for (though work alone it's lovely in its own right).

@SaintHonoria that's lovely but I want to avoid a collar. Thank you for searching the outlet though - it takes forever!

I think the chartreuse will be gorgeous and hot pink, lime green and maybe cream as wrll

sunnywithmeatbols · 11/08/2024 17:49

@WhatNext24 that blouse is a beautiful colour but I'm not sure with the suit - you'd have to try it on to see. I'd worry about it looking a bit too like a uniform - bank staff or something.

thanks for reply about trousers lining.
