Clinique black honey or something else

Late to the party as usual. I’m looking for lip colour that is lighter in texture compared to lipstick. I’ll pay Clinique prices if it’s absolutely perfect and cannot be beaten but if there’s a fabulous dupe at half the price I’d be delighted to hear a recommendation

Burts Bees Red Dahlia lipbalm is often mentioned as a dupe. I’ve never tried Black Honey, but I have tried Red Dahlia and really like it.

Not a dupe, but Mac Mehr and Velvet Teddy are both very light and like natural lips, only better!

I think it's worth it. I mean, it's not super long lasting but neither was the burts bees dupe in red dahlia and I much prefer the texture of Clinique.

Elizabeth Arden 8 hr lip protectant in Plum has been my go-to for at least 10 years. There are always offers if you Google...

The colour is great but it has no saying power. Rip off.

I've used Black Honey for years and swear by it. I was so pissed when it became a thing on tiktok and suddenly got much harder to find.

That’s a blast from the past. I loved Black Honey back in the 90s. I’m going to have to try this again.

Now I use Hourglass Phantom Glossy Balms. Rise and Lure are similar to Black Honey.

I've owned both the Burts Bees red dahlia and Clinique, and definitely prefer Clinique. The Burts Bees one is a nice colour, but the pigment looks streaky and the formula dried out my lips and made them flaky. Black Honey is a very flattering 'my lips but better' shade and the texture doesn't feel sticky or noticeable - it's like wearing lip balm. Given that most of the 'dupes' are £7-£10 and BH is usually £20-25 on offer, I'd say save your money and buy the real thing rather than spend the same amount on dupes that don't hit the mark.
