Please fix my eyebags

Onthedoubleline · 06/08/2024 22:18

I’m only 38, I’ve always had dark circles but they’ve grown into proper eye bags now and I feel so haggard. The rest of my skin is very clear, slightly combination.

Id love to hear anything that has worked, Botox or lifestyle, Facebook creams.

Thanks so much x

They look quite puffy but try googling tear trough filler, that fills out the fat pads under the eyes. Best advice is go have a consultation with a good skincare/aesthetician who can advise best treatment options.

sorry not sure on non aesthetic options

Onthedoubleline · 06/08/2024 22:30

Thank you, will look that up x

My understanding is that only plastic surgery would be effective. I discussed tear trough filler at a skin clinic and the aesthetician was honest in saying that it would not reduce the bags but make the difference between the bags and the rest of the face less obvious.

Tinkerbellflowers · 06/08/2024 22:34

Even something as simple as drinking more water. I'm sure it made a difference with mine.

TomatoSandwiches · 06/08/2024 22:40

Does anyone in your family have similar eyes op? I've found sometimes these types of bags seem to be genetic.
If that's the case then surgery is most likely the only permanent solution, I think it's called bleph surgery.
Anything topical to use would only work very short term, we're talking hours not even a full day.

amoreoamicizia · 06/08/2024 22:47

First you need to rule out allergies which can cause that kind of puffiness. It does seem to resemble that a bit. Do you have hayfever?

If it's not that then lower blepharoplasty is an option. Ask on the plastic surgery subreddit, they may also advise about allergies.

You do need a good surgeon for blepharoplasty because of the way the eyes are a defining characteristic of the face. The good news is it's one of the less expensive surgeries.

Onthedoubleline · 07/08/2024 08:52

Thank you all for your replies! Yes unfortunately my mum does have the same bags, my sisters are not as bad at all though and she’s 10 years older!

I don’t have hayfever but I do get blepharitis.

ill go look at that subreddit!

Tear trough filler OP! It was a game changer for me. Didn't hurt at all, got rid of any dark circles. Make sure you go to a medically trained practitioner though and not a high street beautician. That's if you want to have it done. (That's not me in the pic)

@BorisJohnsonsWigGlue
Great results!

Whale80ne · 07/08/2024 11:07

Check that you don't have any vitamin or mineral deficiencies or allergies etc. before you start down cosmetic routes!

LifeZ · 07/08/2024 11:22

I would be very wary of tear trough filler. You don't have the Distinct hollowing that is treats, rather a more generalised laxity.
There is a real risk that tear trough filter could cause pronounced puffy patches beneath the eyes known as malar bags or festoons. I have seen these and they are a big problem. Not everyone is suitable for treat trough filler and many doctors are moving away from it for to complications it can cause.
It might be worth looking in to something like a skin penetrative treatment around the eyes rate than a filler, ( ey lumi eyes- there are many) there are various types which tighten and add brightness, different types of mesotherapy etc can help. Consult a good aesthetic practitioner who offers multiple treatments to determine what might be best suited.

Meanwhile, drink loads of water, improve lymphatic drainage, either with standard massage or a gua sha tool ( or both). Do this regularly daily. Look into a caffeine based under eye cream for tightning.

Long term a lower blepheroplasty is the "solution" but it's much more major and costly and is surgery so you'd need to be very certain it was what you wanted.

Whale80ne · 07/08/2024 11:29

Have you checked that you aren't anemic or deficient in B vitamins, vitamin d (especially if your light skin tone means you tend to keep out of the sun), zink or any of the other health and nutrition related reasons for dark circles and eye puffiness.

It's not a good idea to avoid checking out what something might be a symptom of and instead look for ways to hide the symptom!

Howtonamechange · 07/08/2024 11:33

You're not suitable for tear trough filler. Please go somewhere reputable. You will end up with bigger bags in the long term if you have tear trough filler.

The best treatment is surgery.

You can improve the skin quality with polynucleotides but ultimately the bags will be unchanged.

No cream will resolve this.

Once you've had surgery then consider getting midface/cheek filler which will help with looking fresher but I would recommend getting surgery first.

The other lady who posted her result has a distinct hollow and is different.

BorisJohnsonsWigGlue · 07/08/2024 14:11

ITS NOT ME IN THE PHOTO

But I have had it done and had great results. :)

But she has hollow dark ones but puffy like mine or ops

Filling those pads with filller would make them look worse. Apart from cold compresses, or use concealer there’s not much else OP can do, apart from surgery. Definitely do not use haemorrhoid cream, before anyon suggests that.

Not suitable for OP, fillers are for hollowed areas, not ones which are puffy.

Remescar eye bag cream is the answer! I’m utterly fed up of mine, allergies and sensitive skin plus genetics have blessed me with bags for life 😂 I’ve fantasised about surgery for years but can’t afford it and am frankly too scared. In desperation I ordered this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Remescar-Circles-Remover-Treatment-Tightening/dp/B01M062HKU/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

It came yesterday and I’m so impressed! Before and after…

Wow what a difference!

LMBoston · 13/08/2024 20:17

@BlackSwan i am pondering this myself, will try it tomorrow (most expensive neck cream ever) 😄 Remescar do one for neck lifting, I’m seriously tempted after seeing what their eye one can do!

@LancashireSquirrel Honestly, I’ve tried every “remedy” going and this is the only thing that’s ever made a visible difference. I couldn’t stop looking at them today! Gonna be an expensive habit, this one, but a good alternative to surgery for the time being 😏

LancashireSquirrel · 13/08/2024 20:23

@LMBoston what other products did you try before this one if you don't mind me asking?

JMAngel1 · 13/08/2024 20:25

Yes I would like to know this too. How does this compare to say Peter Thomas Ross or Eye Perfect (think that’s what it’s called)
