Sorry for the dumb question.

I don't usually wash my face at night with water and cleanser. I use one that doesnt need water just pour on a cotton pad. (morning is in the shower)

I've recently started doing a proper double cleanse but I get water absolutely everywhere. Runs down my arm, im groping around with my eyes shut etc.

What's a more graceful way of doing this please 😂

All you flannel people: you’re not washing your faces. You’re just wiping them with a wet cloth. Do you just wipe down your kitchen counters, or actually use soap (disinfectant spray, whatever)? If you’ve used soap or lathering cleanser, you have to rinse it off with water. Wiping it off with a flannel will take multiple wipes and rinses.

Multiple wipes and rinses is fine. Rub oily cleanser on face, make sure eye make up melted. Flannel under tap, wring out and wipe face Repeat. Repeat. Water runs clear through cloth, face is clean. Flannel in wash.

I just use small little reusable pads, I leave to dry on wrack and then I have a washing bag to put used ones in and machine wash once a week. They are lovely and soft and makes it all less messy. Plus I like the gentle exfoliation.

I’ve also never understood what a strip wash is. How can you possible wash your body with soap and water without getting into a shower/bath? The most you can possibly hope to do is wipe various parts of your body with a damp or wet cloth. Grim.

That would be how flannels work yes 😂 multiple wipes and rinses

my bathroom has a hook for my flannel by the mirror, I then have a special Flannel basket they go in once they are dry to go in a wash with towels etc.

maybe I should name change this could be outing 👀

I have Terry towelling wristbands that I use to stop the water going everywhere but truth be told my face is more often than not washed in the shower every morning and evening.

FlamingoFlamboyance · 07/08/2024 21:33

I wash it like they do in the neutrogena adverts where they stand at a sink full of water and throw cupped handfuls of water straight up at their face!

(I don't really! Just had to add this!)

HowDoYouSpellThat · 07/08/2024 21:37

I have a shower head attachment on my bath so i keep it on the shower head rest and lean over the bath. Any water drips right off and doesnt hang about my eyes.

Can you use a flannel?

I'm 54 and only just realised that I don't get water all over the floor and running down my arms into my dressing gown if I use a flannel.

Wigtopia · 07/08/2024 22:36

Yes water does run down arms and off elbows!! I wash my face in a hunched contorted position with my elbows angled inwards to the centre of the sink 🤓
