Trousers - styling the same pair for different looks

Further to a post I made about capsule wardrobes I wondered if I could reach out and get opinions on this. I have lots of pairs of trousers I love, in similar styles but different colours, and I want to make sure I get proper wear out of them.

I am loving high waist 1940s style trousers and have three pairs in navy, rust and green. So far I have worn them to work with a blouse or shirt that I normally only wear to work in the office or have worn them for nights out and worn them differently so I don't feel like I am in the office. I think I am OK with this but any ideas on how you'd style them for like day out to the shops etc would be appreciated.

The other style of trousers I am loving especially in summer are my tapered or ankle grazer style trousers. I know they are not everyone's cup of tea but I have them in black, navy, teal and a bottle green. I'd like to wear them more casually or dress them up for going out (dinner, drinks etc) without making it look like I'm going to the office (again I wouldn't wear them with a top or blouse I'd wear to work).

I know I'm rambling a bit but thought if I write it out I might feel better. I want to make sure I am not wasting good clothes I had and get the most wear out of them.

I have attached a few pictures and hope this works.

For evening would you wear a beaded/sequin vest? There s a chiffon type in M and S at the moment, they also have a knitted vest in a light gold shade (matching cardi)

Ooh yes that sounds good, I'll have a look, thanks!

I am a bit old fashioned, but would a breton look good with the high waisted trousers - think I have seen princess Katherine in that?

Sorry, should have put it in one post, but Kettlewell colours have a range of fitted tops in a good range of colours

ooooh, I love the 40s style trousers! Id probably wear them with a blouse (I have several pussy bow style blouses) and then a sweater vest or waistcoat...basically pretend Im katherine Hepburn in The Philadelphia Story!!LOL😄

For the fitted trousers Id probably go the other way with a smart plain tee and cropped blazer.
Although either style would work with a nice cropped knit. (then again I dont really have fashion sense....I just know what Id like!).

@henlake7 the 40s trousers are so comfy and well made. Above budget for me but I've bought them pre loved for half the price. Which is why I want more use out of them!

I didn't even think of wearing them with a plain t shirt. When that and trainers for day to day would work for me.

Yes I didn't think of a breton top and I have a couple! The Kettlewell site is great thanks I'd never heard of them.
