Hi all. Just wondering if someone has been in the same situation.

I had tummy tuck 2 weeks ago and i was looking at my belly button and it doesn't look right. Has anyone been in the same situation. How did the belly button heal. I'll attach a picture to this post .
Thanks

I had a tummy tuck and got an infection ; I'd speak to the clinic and send photos; that's a bit red and they might want to dress and/or give antibiotics.

In my experience the aftercare is excellent if you are private (and the cost included) so definitely pick up the phone.

OP, you know you are posting in style and beauty on mumsnet, right? This is the place for advice about tinted moisturiser and to help people pick which beauty advent calendar they’re going to waste £300 on. Phone your GP ffs!

(I mean that kindly. I hope you get better soon. But a time and a place!!!).

That looks gross sorry ..seek medical advice

Wahine24 · 03/08/2024 00:11

@Luckyflower
That looks infected, is it hot? Do you feel unwell? Does it smell? Was your surgery in the UK? If so you should contact them , you may need antibiotics
If not done in the UK , I'm unsure what the protocol is but would speak to your GP if possible or a chemist who should be able to offer proper medical advice .

Blimey the photos are viewable when scrolling through style and beauty without clicking on the thread. So to be honest mnhq editing the thread title is kind of like shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted. Put me right off my cornflakes 😁. OP, wound healing generally works from the bottom up so maybe things will improve? Dunno, see a doctor.

FlamingoFlamboyance · 03/08/2024 08:40

With the greatest respect, it's never going to look the same as before! You've had major surgery!

Unless it's oozing or smells, I wouldn't be overly concerned, it's only been 2 weeks

olympicsrock · 03/08/2024 08:45

Have they operated around your tummy button? It looks red and some tissue a bit grey- ish. If they have operated around this area - I would speak to your surgeon urgently.
Go back to them anyway for a wound review asap

doi i’m a surgeon

Ponkpinkpink15 · 03/08/2024 08:50

There are some sensitive petals on your thread.

its not 'gross' 🙄🙄

'style & beauty' was a strange place to post though! 🤣🤣

It does look sore/infected. You should email them the photos & ask their advice.

your tummy looks fabulous!

ImDrinkingRum · 03/08/2024 08:55

I had a TT earlier this year mine looked similar and it was fine. Looks great now! Much better than the old one

catin8oots · 03/08/2024 09:01

Lolling at everyone fainting over a slightly inflamed and sore naval picture. Mumsnet must have run out of smelling salts.

How are you feeling today OP? Have you been back in contact with the surgeon?

catin8oots · 03/08/2024 09:02

*navel

spiderdave · 03/08/2024 09:03

@catin8oots I thought the same! It's a bit of a red belly button, loling at the good grief comment!

Wahine24 · 03/08/2024 10:01

@Luckyflower untill you can ask someone with medical knowledge you could clean it very gently with salt water (boiled water and salt cooled) but be super careful not to catch of pull the stitches or edges and let it dry afterwards

dancingsands · 03/08/2024 11:44

I would get it checked out, mine didn't look like that x
