Dr Martens sandals.

Can’t decide between the Blaire or the Voss II. Does anyone have either or both and have any positive or negative things to say? Or do you own neither and just want to judge Grin.

I’m a Dr Martens first timer (as an adult a sandals in general first timer but I’m determined to get the trotters out) and I need something I can walk in comfortably by the end of August. There’s no real difference in price so can’t use that to help me decide.

I have the voss ones and they are amazing! I love them so much and would highly recommend them. I actually found out about DM sandals on here. I would recommend going to a DM shop though and trying a few pairs on. I went with the intention of buying the Blaire ones and they didn't fit right. They were clunky and uncomfortable. The guy in the shop recommended the Voss pair and they fit beautifully.

Much prefer the Voss

evilharpy · 31/07/2024 12:52

I had my heart set on the Blaire and ordered a pair, but the strap was in exactly the wrong place and kept catching on the nail of my little toe. They ended up having to go back - I was gutted. They were also too narrow for my super wide feet, but if I sized up they would have been too long.

I just don't like the Voss as much in photos but maybe I should give them a try.

I have the voss too - they are soft leather and didn’t need wearing in at all… would recommend.

I have the Blaire and my friend has the Voss. We both plan on getting the others, they're both lovely shoes. No help at all.

Yellowjacketscold · 31/07/2024 12:59

I had the same problem with the Blaire straps, they're in the wrong place so catch on my little toe. Voss are much more comfortable

ChittyChittyBoomBoom · 31/07/2024 13:15

I have both and the Voss are so much more comfortable and easy to walk in. No rubbing, no wearing in.

Runhomejack · 31/07/2024 13:23

I have the Voss and love the look of them. I have average width feet and sized down but the front straps are a bit too loose. So they can rub a little and cause a red patch (no blood or blisters) if I've been walking a lot. However, I still wear them all the time as they make me happy and suit my style. Fashion victim but don't care.

Calphurnia6 · 31/07/2024 14:00

I have short legs so suspect the Voss would be more flattering on me, but I do like the look of the Blaires on other people. Could you try on both and see which suits best?

ColonelRhubarbBikini · 31/07/2024 14:17

Thanks everyone really appreciate it. I’m steering more towards the Voss. Sadly I’m in the arse end of nowhere so can’t trek to a shop and try them on. Think I’ll cautiously order the Voss and try them about the house best I can. Do they come up true to size? I’m a very average 5 and I’m neither narrow not wide footed so hopefully they’ll be the ticket and Cinderella will go to the ball (aka the lady with the hobbit looking feet will go on holiday in a pair of sandals that don’t make her feel like a total frump Grin)

I'm a size smaller in dm sandals than boots and shoes.

DryIce · 31/07/2024 15:02

I have the ones on the right, they are fab and I wear them all the time.

I got my normal EU size

Camembertcufflinks · 31/07/2024 15:15

I have the blaire ones and live them, but make sure you size down. The straps on the first pair I ordered in my usual DM boot size were huge and my foot was flipping about. I sent those back and ordered a size down and they fit perfectly.
