Isotronin and spf

After some advice. I'm currently on Isontronin as prescribed by a dermatologist. I know I have to be careful being in the sun. I've got a holiday coming up and am wondering if you can suggest a suncream spf that would be good for acne prone skin and that would work well with a roaccutane type of medication. Don't want to break out worse, but also want to keep safe.

Ask that dermatologist?

Hi. I'd recommend thinking beyond the SPF and making sure you pack a wide brimmed hat as well and try to keep out of the sun as much as possible.

More important than the brand of SPF you choose is

  • making sure you use enough for proper coverage (think a teaspoon for face and same again for neck)
  • reapplying regularly

Here is the one I currently use - also acne prone (considering roaccutane after I have hopefully had my baby). It says for face and body but I find it perfect for my face and cheap enough to apply liberally. It soaks in quickly and doesn't leave any tackiness or stickiness. Also fragrance free.

You can also check out La Roche Posay which is also good but more expensive.

For his face, my DS used avon face spf 50 when he was on it. Its matt, doesn't block pores & was really effective in the 35 degree heat. Also wore a hat as much as possible.

For the rest of his body he started with superdrug spf 50 and then went down to spf 30 after a few days. Again, no issues from this, no burning or even reddening.

Thank you for the suggestions. I'll look at those.
