Have these trousers have become fashionable again? I'm seeing similar styles around and about on fashionable creatures.

I've been hanging on to them for about 23 years because I love them and also in anticipation of a fashion resurgence.

Is this it? Is the resurgence happening? Can I finally wear them again without looking like a Some Saints* reject?

If so, what to wear them with?

*Some Saints is a pound-shop All Saints tribute group that lives in my head rent free.

Vest top in black or preferably white, same with racer back tops. Or extra daring a tube top sans bra. Top it off with a boxy cropped zip hoodie, chunky trainers or bust out those Tim's (timberlands), combat boots for autumn winter.

I'm fucking loving the reappearance of late 90s early 00s fashion. It was my hey day and the clothes that suit me best. Never fully left that style behind. For once I actually look full on trendy!

My stepdaughter wearing similar but they are more billowy and parachute style.

I would combine with a simple white T shirt - either crew neck, V neck or boat neck but definitely a white T shirt.
It would be the smart yet casual summer look.

Well done that you can fit in them, definitely just enjoy them. There is no “fashion” anymore in general in my view everyone just wears whatever they want.

I remember the regret the day I parted with my low slung pink <denim> cargos/jeans mashup pants with arse lace detail. I regret that decision just as much today, decades later ☹️ Not that I'd get even one arse cheek in them now, but I'd love to show you a pic of them, and maybe convince dd to model them for me for the nostalgia!

I fondly remember the All Saints era when half of my town centre was army surplus shops and my friends and I were all wearing army surplus combats with baby tees.

Never stopped wearing mine ... for hiking at least

They look fab. I love cargo trousers. Wore them the first time round and bought some recently from M&S.

That's truly impressive. I had lots of khaki cargo pants in the 90s.

Sadly the only thing I can fit into from 23 years ago is my earrings...

Hate to break it to you ladies but cargos / parachute pants and all the rest have been in the shops for years again, my teens all wear cargos rather than jeans and my dd had parachute pants too.

In 00s, I had a green Juicy Couture velour track suit that I really wobbled about getting rid of when left home.

I loved it and my heart was telling to keep it, but my head said "Nope, that will never, ever, ever come back into fashion".

Stupid brain.

I have a pair of cargo pants. I bought them only for walking in summer. Would never use them for general wear.

Combats? I didn't know they'd ever been actively unfashionable. They're like jeans, they never really go away.

I’ve been wearing them this year with a racer back top, I am delighted they are back it was my favourite look back in the day and it doesn’t matter that I wore them the first time round, such a stupid comment, many styles are back now, bootlegs, flares, loose jeans etc, if we went by that stupid “rule” we basically couldn’t wear anything remotely fashionable ever again.

Absolutely!!! I lived in cargos when I was late teens and early 20's.

I've just bought a parachute pair from next - and I'm getting the grey ones too when my size is back in stock!

Most comfy trousers EVER 😂

Can be worn with Birkenstocks or trainers so great for college summer evenings as well as spring and autumn days.

Cooler summer evenings.
