Could anyone recommend a new hair serum/oil I could use in wet hair for my knackered hair please?
it’s very dry and frizzy from being over coloured, I’ve used the Aussie oil for years!
thank you! 😀

I'd go back a few steps TBH.

  1. Bond repair
  2. Moisturising treatment. Maybe coconut oil here?
  3. Leave in conditioner

I use oil as a finishing product, just for a bit of smoothing and shine. The Olaplex one is nice, but pricey. You'd have to use so much of it to fully moisturise a whole head of hair though.

Keratese elixir ultime is pricey but leaves my hair really soft and smooth. It acts as a heat protector too.
I have very long hair so use it daily on the ends and the bottle lasts ages.

This (not a serum or oil though) has saved my overbleached hair SO many times.

My hairdresser swears by Moroccan oil. She tells me it moisturises the hair properly rather than just sitting on the surface.

Hair mask (with literally any type of conditioner) a few times a week has saved mine. It was like straw and is now a lot healthier.

LaWench · 28/07/2024 08:33

I use pantene hair mask as a conditioner (once a week) and then some heat protection spray and loreal extraordinary oil on the ends before drying it. Keeps my bleached thick wavy hair soft and frizz free. I do only wash my hair 3 times a week.

How do you use this @xTheLoudLeaderx ? I’ve been spraying before drying, and it’s made no difference. But everyone else really rates it, so maybe I’m doing something wrong.

I blast my hair with the cold setting in the hair dryer so it’s not soaking after towel drying. Then I spilt my hair into 3 sections, top middle and bottom, start with the bottom and spray loads on (pretending it isn’t 20£ a bottle) then dry my hair… move on to the middle section and do the same and then the top.

Ive just checked that I’m using it right and it does say only use every 3-4 washes, I only wash my hair once a week and I use it every wash.

Do you have straight hair or what hair style naturally do you have ?

Albta · 28/07/2024 21:50

Thank you all so much for you suggestions!
it really is amazing!!

@Sugarnspicenallthingsnaice your completely right - I also wash my hair too much which doesn’t help.
How long do you leave confirmer hair mask for? any suggestions for a leave in conditioner? When I last tried one I found it felt too greasy for my really fine but also really thick hair.

I’m going to give the K-Pak a go @Fimbledore

the wow sounds a bit complicated - I very rarely actually dry my hair, knackered my hair with hair straighteners in my 20’s so just leave to dry naturally now. I don’t know if that silly or not!?

Sometimes it the heat that’s damaging your hair.

I stopped using straighteners and started using a hot brush, the GHD Glide and this has totally changed my hair for the better - better than any serums or oil etc

Thank you @MissAtomicBomb1 I’ve also ordered a small keratase bottle as well

OP posts:
AndSoFinally · 29/07/2024 13:26

@AgentProvocateur you have to dry it with a brush, under tension for it to work properly. You have to pull the hair straight as you dry, and you have to use a hair dryer , or it doesn't do much

Albta · 31/08/2024 21:17

Just want to say thank you to everyone!
the kératase oil is 100 times better than what I had been using. Just gone all in with a big bottle.

i got the k-pak as well but not convinced.

thank you all!
