I have to go to a funeral (in the UK) in a week's time; the forecast suggests that the temperature is likely to be in the low 20s. I prefer cooler weather to warmer so although this isn't hot, I will probably get a bit sticky if I'm overdressed.
The family will expect conservative clothing to be worn.
I've got a very lightweight black tailored jacket (sort of a blazer, but edge to edge, no buttons etc) and a choice of white or muted coloured blouses. It's the lower half that I'm struggling with! Normally I'd wear trousers but my preferred pair are a tweedy material and I will probably melt!
What sort of clothing would people wear to a formal summer funeral? I'm not really looking for new ideas from the shops, more some style suggestions so I can see what I can work with.
