Absolutely gutted! If anyone on here likes vintage style clothes and lives near London, they are selling off the stock in the Camden shops at 70% off this weekend. (Brighton was meant to be open too, but they are having issues with their shutters/ door.)

I quite like British Retro, Lady V and Dolly and Dotty, although those brands are slightly less roomy in the bust than Collectif. Any other suggestions of affordable shops I can fill the Collectif shaped void with? 👗

Does anyone know if the Camden store is open? The Spitalfields store is closed so wondering if Camden will be open at the weekend.

Gutted as I adore their clothing and get a lot of compliments about the fit. I have about 15 versions of the Dolores dress but each pattern looks like a completely different dress.

Also I’d picked out the perfect outfit for a themed night but didn’t buy it in time 😭

Just discovered this. Went to the website and of course the website is dead. I am both gutted and really annoyed!

I would put money on Brexit being a big factor in them struggling as they would have to have hiked up their shipping costs for overseas buyers, and as it catered to a niche customer base, it needed to get customers from all over. Covid probably finished them off.

After Brexit and Covid so many of my favourite local shops just died. My fave fabric shops included. Shops that had been there for decades where you knew peoples names.

I hate the UK retail landscape atm. It has the pang of death about it. Even the quality of clothes in shops like M&S have gone lower following Brexit.

I really hope things improve and the Collectif former owners can relaunch with something else, I love vintage style clothing.

I share your pain @DysonSphere I’ve also used Pretty Kitty Fashion but would welcome any other recommendations.

omg 90% of my clothes are from Collectif. I was avoiding buying more due to pregnancy & baby & finding out what size I ended up at the end. I’ve been wearing them for 15 odd years ago & I am larger than I was pre baby! Will hit up vinted but will need to move on.

Anyone free to tell me which brands are:

1. have similar bust to waist drop of 10 inches. Eg 40inch bust was a 30inch waist.

2. are made of 97% cotton 3 % elastane

3. sell some plainer / office work appropriate styles?

Ok, I’ve gone through the suggested brands and best I can get is a 7inch drop from bust to waist - anyone who loved collectif for the form fitting bust /waist, can you suggest any other dress brands that fit well regardless of style?

thanks - my mum used to make me dresses but she worked part time during my school and Uni days. I have some of the skills but none of the time!

on Lindybop site they are selling collectif

Collectif has been bought by a Turkish company apparently and will be opening again. The shop on the main street in Camden is also open again selling the warehouse stock all October. Hopefully good news!
