Does anyone know is this a scam? It really doesn't look legit but DN is apparently going up to London to participate.

I'm just worried that she thinks she's now facing a life of superstardom but it's more likely to be a way of extracting money from hopeful teens. Can anyone reassure me?

Can you post a link to it?

It might be a scam, it might not be. However, what is extremely likely- as with almost all of these competitions - they aren’t going to make you famous or get you booked on lots of massive ad campaigns. Plus you usually have to jump through hoops to try and prove yourself and go before a panel of judges and have to compete against 100s of hopefuls and if you’re successful in the first round, there will likely be more rounds and more hoops to have to jump through. You may also have to pay an entry fee to take part or fund a charity or maybe have to find a sponsor or some other complicated requirement that all other models who got to be models by being scouted or applying to an agency wouldn’t have had to do.

I just don’t see the point of a model competition when if you have what it really takes to be a model you can just apply to reputable modelling agencies and if you’re successful they will sign you without having to go through all that palava.

If she has had to pay money to enter then that would be a big no for me. As I said earlier, if a modelling agency thinks someone has what it takes they will sign you without having to pay money to them.
