Black or tan sandals?

I'm planning to buy a pair of Fitflop Gracie sandals inspired by another thread. I can't decide between black or tan though. Which is more versatile? They are quite an expensive purchase for me so I want to make sure I get it right.
For context I tend to wear fairly neutral clothes, with some greens/blues/lilacs. I'm going back and forwards between the two colours so thought I'd put it to the mn vote. I'd like them to be my go to sandals that I can chuck on with anything.

I usually find black sandals quite harsh colour wise especially if you are someone who wears neutrals, so I would say Tan

I think tan gives a more casual summer vibe especially with greens & blues. Not sure about lilac though. Maybe the stone beige or platino would be most versatile.

Love fit flop sandals!
