Supportive flip flops

toinfinityandbeyond · 22/07/2024 16:19

I'm approaching 5 months post a triple ankle fracture. The ankle is plated and pinned both sides and the back, and I'm walking pretty well on it in trainers.
I'm hoping you all might be able to help with some ideas for a supportive flip flop or light sandal. I usually live in havaianas, but think they might be a no go for walking around Seville next week!
Any suggestions for something that isn't clearly an orthopaedic shoe?! 😊

Crocs LiteRiders have a great footbed with support. Not easy to find though

Hoogieflip · 22/07/2024 16:23

I can recommend Teva flip flops, Birkenstock sandals and Fitflop sandals.

Thanks. I've found some fit flops with arch support online. I might give those a try.

I'm just about to order these. Are they true to size, or should I size up? Thanks

The Crocs platform flip flops (not as ugly as they sound) are very comfy.

AuntieDolly · 22/07/2024 17:14

M&m direct usually have good deals on FitFlops

I have these and they are extremely comfortable - I’ve happily sauntered for miles in mine, despite a tendency to plantar fasciitis. Didn’t size up, just took my usual size. Hope your ankles mend to perfection. Good luck!

I love my Skechers Archfit. So comfy - I have never been able to wear flip flops for more than pottering around before but am living in these! Sized down, so same as Birkenstocks, I have wide feet so tend to size up for other shoes.

True to size. I am a UK7, but often have to wear size 8 shoes cause I've got wide feet (I love barefoot and flipflops so that might be why!) I hope you love them as much as I do.

Fit Flops. 100%

Meem321 · 22/07/2024 19:03

Archies flip flops.

Justkeeprollingalong · 22/07/2024 19:14

I second Archies. I can't wear flat flip flops but can walk for miles in these.

toinfinityandbeyond · 22/07/2024 19:26

Thanks for all of your recommendations. I've ordered a pair of fit flop iqushions 🤞

Fit Flops
Archies flip flops

RivkaTheBold · 23/07/2024 08:58

I have the fitflop iquishon but the Archies ones are much better for me comfort wise. I could run a marathon in them

I’ve got really fussy feet and struggled for ages to find supportive flip flops that didn’t make them ache. Someone recommended FlipFlops.cc and they turned out to be a game changer for me. Loads of arch support and they don’t feel flimsy like most high street ones. I wore them all last summer without pain, even on long walks.
