How long does the growth need to be to be effective? Would 2 weeks growth remove ok? I've timed this badly as going on holiday tomorrow, I don't want to shave.

It depends how hairy you are and how quick the hair has grown back. Mine is slow growing and quite sparse, so 2 weeks regrowth definitely isn't long enough.

Have you had underarm waxing before? If you have not - don't! Definitely not immediately before going on holiday.

I've had it done a couple of times, and every time I end up extremely sore, walking around with my elbows sticking out, and unable to use deodorant for several days.

I don't mean never. I mean not for the first time just before you go away. Try it out when it won't matter first.

I've had it done many times so right before a holiday isn't a problem. I'm just not sure how long the growth needs to be to get a proper grip, was hoping someone would have some insight. It's a couple of mm.

I do mine at home and last time was just over two weeks of growth, maybe 3mm. I normally wait three weeks but two was actually ok - got a good amount of it so still had to shave but much less.

Main advice would be try it and STOP if it's not working!! Don't persevere and damage the skin (voice of experience) 🙈

It is working, I get it done by a professional, but I had it done 2 weeks ago for an event and now there isn't much growth but leave for hol tomorrow.
