I read that the ring Catherine wore on the video recently is likely to be the 'promise ring' that William gave her back when they were at university together. Pearls and garnets; their birthstones.

It's been announced that CPV is going to undertake full-time officer's training in the autumn, so she will not be undertaking many public duties.

Fred and Mary have announced the itinerary for their late summer sailing tour, August 19 - 22. They will take a carriage ride through each town if I understand correctly. It will also be possible for the public to visit the Royal horses at each location. There will be a dinner every evening on board Dannebrog, so hopefully we might see some great frocks.

Not long 'til the Norwegian wedding. Quite a tumultuous time for the Norwegian Royal Household atm, sadly. I know we keep it fairly light here but I agree with a Norwegian historian who has said, quite rightly, that the young woman in question is the victim in this situation and whilst it's going to be difficult for the family, it will have been, and will continue to be, far more difficult for her.

Märtha Louise has announced that she and her husband-to-be have had a new (unofficial) monogram designed. Apparently it honours their previous life together in Egypt.

Yes, someone brought us up to speed on the Norwegian situation upthread, I hadn't heard about it. We shall see what happens.

I am lost for words - although the cynic in me thinks they are monetising the upcoming wedding by getting a new monogram introduced ready for whatever candles, lotions and potions they start to push after the wedding. Because she can't use her title or official monogram on those.

Look forward to seeing the wedding outfits of the bride and groom (because this IS in Style and Beauty).

We know that the King and Queen of Sweden will not be attending. A spokeswoman for the Royal household did not confirm whether Daniel and Victoria will attend (since it is a private wedding and PR don't comment on those), but on the one hand I presume they will since Victoria and Märtha are friends and have been forever. Same for Fred and Mary. However it'll be interesting to see if certain individuals decide to just stay well away, given the particulars around this wedding.

I like the outfit but wouldn't have put those shoes with that dress.

They are lovely shoes but I don't think they fit with the blouse/skirt and she's worn better shoes on this tour. I do particularly like the skirt though.

They are indeed! The Acquazzura website is full of 'Gorgeous but £££' dreams.

Very nice tan heels - very pretty.
I do NOT like that skirt&sleeveless shirt combo, except for the pink heels which are a pretty colour. She looks really frumpy and like a junior dr doing the rounds on an NHS ward - just needs a lanyard to go with (no offence meant to any fabulously stylish junior Drs!)
Why can't she break out those fabulous dresses like the sleeveless yellow shift? Or the turquoise in the rain one?
And if they would feel 'too much' then she also has some nice floaty dresses in the back of her wardrobe!

@Eaumyword I think that's my frustration with Meghan's choices - she goes from 'navy pant suit' to 'beach dress' to 'junior doctor' to 'full on glamour' within 24 hours with very little that is consistent in the different looks and there's always something that isn't quite right.

The one thing she always nails is her make up - it's generally spot on. I also love her casual style. And her shoes.

Is the blouse cotton or silk ?
I wouldn't put a cotton blouse with a sequin skirt.
I don't like the sleeveless blouse with the skirt.
I would pair the skirt with a lowish round neck silk satin t shirt. Or silk satin blouse.
Not that I could wear that lovely skirt because of my non existent waist
Love the pink shoes.

I have a sequin pencil skirt and paired it with a white shirt the last time I wore it and got lots of compliments!
