Evening all! Thanks to Tracy Beaker for the new title!
Roll on some bling and style, though it may be a while!

This is my favourite outfit - I think Meghan looks great here, nice shirt, lovely wrap skirt, hair with a side parting - very good 👍

I agree. Best outfit from the Columbia trip so far.

Maireas · 17/08/2024 15:14

I actually think it's one of her best looks full stop! The proportions, the fit, the shoes, the hair, the make up; all on point.

Love that outfit, except for the shoes, I don't think those very strappy styles suit her feet.

smilesy · 17/08/2024 17:46

I really like the skirt and shirt combo. That was her best sort of look in Nigeria as well with the shirt and gifted blue skirt. This blue dress, not so much. Looks like a duvet cover with holes cut in it

Is the blue dress the same as the yellow one she wore in Nigeria - just made up in a different colour?

Better picture of yellow dress

Maireas · 17/08/2024 18:14

Yes, that's what I was thinking, Lunde.

yellow dress

Going against the grain here I suspect, but I really don't like her kitten heel shoes/mules. Better than sky high stilettos to be fair.
Quite like the shirts/polka dot skirt combo which looks good when seated but I'm less keen on it when she's standing. I think the high waist makes her middle look larger than it is. She does suit the white shirt.
I like the blue colour and yellow colours of the voluminous dress style, but not the dress itself.

Yes I think it’s, but somehow it looks heavier and less flowing in the blue 🤷‍♀️

I agree. It’s by far her best look.

I have also read the photos are restricted and publications have to pay for them.

Lunde · 17/08/2024 21:04

I like the spotty wrap skirt. I think it is a good look for her. But if I am being honest I am a bit over the casual white shirt with everything look. I think the skirt would have looked fantastic with a fitted blouse or stretchy top.

Here’s another outfit from the tour but no good photos of it. I’m not sure if it’s a dress or jumpsuit.

Whatever you think of Meghan's clothing choices, she always looks much better dressed than Harry, who dresses much more casually.
Weird that they don't dress to the same standard for the same functions.

That looks very similar to a dress she wore on their Sydney trip but I don’t think it’s the same one?

Choux · 17/08/2024 23:07

It's a very long black dress which must have got very dusty on the bottom.

Papergirl1968 · 18/08/2024 09:04

They both look very creased here.

Maireas · 18/08/2024 09:09

I like wearing linen in the heat. It does look creased, but I don't think in a bad way. I like the white and pale blue, and think they both look nice and appropriate here. I'm glad Harry has abandoned the polo shirts and jeans look for the moment!

I think Megs is trying to start a new trend of unexpected colour pairing - cream with white, copper with brown. We will probably all be wearing colours together next summer we wouldn't have dreamt of this year!

Harassedevictee · 18/08/2024 10:34

Again a top and trousers in almost the same colour. As pp said a navy top with the copper trousers. A pastel top with the white skirt.

I also think linen is meant to be slightly creased.

It is a top plus a long skirt, both Johanna Ortiz

Yes, I find the cream and white together quite unsettling. Doesn't look right to me.

Papergirl1968 · 18/08/2024 12:00

Agree@MotherofPearl
I don’t like white and cream together, or any colours which are too similar like navy and black.

MotherofPearl · 18/08/2024 12:21

Exactly. Upthread @Eaumyword envisioned a navy and red outfit for Meghan which sounded much more up my street. I love navy and red, or navy and white.

AllTangledUpInTitlesAndTiaras · 18/08/2024 13:11

Linen creases easily. It's really not a big deal; in countries where it's routinely worn everyone knows it and makes allowances accordingly. That said, I think the outfits are far, far too casual for a public facing/professional visit. Meg's, in particular.

Her best outfit, almost perfect in fact, imo, was the one she wore at arrival. Even her hair was done right for the outfit, which doesn't happen all that often!

Harry's outfit on arrival was good too. Glad to see him wear something other than that grey suit/scruffy tan shoes combo.

I don't understand why she didn't just wear that top in black instead of mixing white/cream. Would have looked great and gone well with her hat.

Mules are not a practical choice for walking/dancing/etc and they look really messy hanging off one's feet whilst sitting, hence they look a bit silly IMO. But I suppose one might say well when can you actually wear them then, and I do like them as a concept so maybe I'm being harsh. Perhaps it's the private vs. public/professional distinction again.

I also like the polka dotted skirt but I agree, the crisp white shirt look is overdone. Meg should study Mary's separates styling - she generally does it very nicely and mixes it up well enough that she doesn't end up looking boring.

I like the black top/long skirt. I'd wear it. Well I wouldn't because I couldn't (boobage) but if I could, I would. With the skirt hemmed to a good length, mind.

I think her outfits have at least been quite a lot better this time than on the Nigerian visit where she really made some awful decisions. But that's not necessarily a high bar.
