Summer Waterproof Jacket

Please help me find a jacket for our summer holiday to the wilds of south west England. It needs to be waterproof but not too warm and not expensive. I tend to buy things off vinted where possible but will buy new if I consider it worth it. Maybe I could waterproof an existing jacket? I've been looking at Dare2Be but most seem too warm rather than just a shell type jacket. Of course I'm hoping the weather is good but it's England...

Following as I'm looking for the same. Ideally longline so if I sit down during a wet walk my bum doesn't get wet, and with large patch front pockets to put dog walking stuff in.

Have a look at didriksons website?

I have a Joules 'right as rain' hooded, with large pockets that comes below my knees. Zipped. Stood up to absolute downpours. It is a cotton-ey type material with taped seams. The top half is jersey lined to make it breathable. Quite smart, Hangs well and does not cling. It would pass for a light coat.
I also have an Aigle Rainpack, which is the nylon-ey type, hooded and past my knees. It zips into it's own pocket, and you could easily fit it into a handbag. This has also stood up to downpours, but being lighter weight does cling. It was just over £100, but has lasted very well. It has a full length zip, so although it is lighter weight, it stays in place.
I have never seen the point of a rain jacket, unless you wear waterproof bottoms, too.

I recently bought a man's XXL waterproof jacket in the Mountain Warehouse sale. It packs into a little bag and is a bit like a tent when wearing, absolutely perfect like that because it doesn't get sweaty.

It cost about £26.

I have a couple of Joules right as rain jackets. Thin, long and non sweaty but waterproof.

I’ve just ordered this from Uniqlo. After discovering that the packable raincoat I had from them is not in fact waterproof. ☔️

This is also not water proof - water repellent is not water proof

"- Water-repellent finish protects against light rain. *The finish is not permanent. Windproof and water-breathable."

if you want something that is really waterproof look for a coast that is waterproof rated:

0 – 1,500mm – Water resistant
For when the weather is light brief showers.
Up to 2,000mm – Waterproof
Jackets with up to 2,000mm are suitable for everyday use, whether it be around town or walking the dog.
Up to 5,000mm – Waterproof
A rating of up to 5,000mm is suitable for just about all weather conditions but equally at home in lesser ones, great for a Sunday stroll or a trek in moderate rain.
Up to 10,000mm – Extreme waterproof
Jackets with a rating of 10,000mm are suitable for heavy, sustained rain, whilst still being breathable

Seasalt waterproof jackets are excellent (pricey but worth every penny)

Regatta have a sale on at the moment.

Loads of Orla Kiely stuff, for those who like that kind of thing.

Rains is a good brand for lightweight waterproof jackets - there is likely to be plenty on vinted
