If you were wearing this dress, what jacket would you wear with it?

I am pretty terrible not very confident with clothing. I am going to a wedding and have tried this dress on. It looked nice (I am told). My DH has helpfully suggested that I need a jacket to go with it in case it's chilly. What should I be wearing?

Lovely dress! You’re going to have trouble tucking those sleeves into a jacket. Maybe a big floaty scarf/wrap thing?

OhGingleBells · 15/07/2024 17:31

Pashmina!

Pashmina!

That's a great idea. It will look lovely. Not sure which colour however. I try to find muted accents in the dress.

Lovely dress. Yes a pasmina or shawl would work well

It’s clearly a dress that was designed to be worn without the sleeves being squeezed into another garment.

You could sling a jacket across your shoulders, as long as you don’t attempt to wear it properly. But if wearing a jacket were the focus of your outfit, I’d choose a different dress.

Where is the dress from? It’s lovely!

JaneJeffer · 15/07/2024 18:09

That model is beautiful.

I wouldn't bother with a jacket or anything. You'll probably be indoors most of the day.

It's from Roman.

@JaneJeffer sadly I am not as beautiful as the model but I am tall and relatively slim so I think I can get away with it. I need the tie waist to give me some definition because I don't have decent boobs to give shape.

I also have this dress- I planned to wear a pashmina with it!

I wouldn't wear a jacket with that dress. For getting to and from the venue I would wear a good coat (the sleeves will be fine under a coat) take that off on arrival and have nothing over it at the venue.

What colour will you choose?

Probably plain blue or green, since the dress is so ‘busy.’ Amazon have a good selection.

LoobyDoop2 · 16/07/2024 19:48

Camisole or kidney warmer underneath so you don’t detract from the lovely sleeves. Or the dreaded slip.

PashaMinaMio · 16/07/2024 19:53

I love pashminas!
I have them in lots of colours. Excellent in all sorts of situations.
There are lots of outlets. Buy the best you can afford. I buy the wool and silk mix variety because they don’t crease.
