Black socks

aveline161 · 14/07/2024 17:38

I want a multipack of black socks that have some sort of small motif on them to help with matching but are all identical. So not days of the week or different coloured toes, all identical, but in a pack of 4/6/10 etc. Coloured toe is fine, as long as all red or all yellow or whatever! Thank you

TK Maxx

Black socks are my nemesis in laundry .

I;ve had some from Primark that have had grey on the toes but not identical . (I've moved onto M&S Supremely Soft all black but they feel different to everyone elses socks ) .

For my DS , I buy from Next , he has some with a stag motif embroidered on (black thread so not visible)
DH has a random mix of black socks
(You can see why I hate sorting them Grin )

They might do similar in womens ?

This is why I can’t just buy a big pack of black socks, they will get mixed with all the other previous attempts no matter how many single socks I ditch. They need to be distinctive but match each other! In bulk!

I’d say Tesco… except they’re awful quality and get holes in them v quickly! Next are great though

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 14/07/2024 19:09

Why not just buy a pack of black socks and tie each pair together with a length of string?

One does need to experiment a bit with the length of string, as if you get it wrong you can develop a gait that is somewhere between Max Wall and Mr Humphries.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 14/07/2024 19:19

You need to get hold of the catologue Father Ted had.

Priest Socks. Blacker than any other type of socks.

Brilliant! 😂

Asda. I get then for my boys so they ( god forbid!) dont get mixed up. They have little motifs at the top such as monsters, dinosaurs etc. Bit childish but they are 14 & 17 and the motifs are thumbnail sized so they dont care

TheHuntSyndicate · 14/07/2024 20:08

Next have some black ones with small coloured heart motif at the top.

Darklane · 14/07/2024 20:51

Asda. Like the ones a pp mentioned for boys but these are for women with small motifs like flowers, hearts, birds etc. packs of six good quality & cheap.

These are good , I can get a couple of pairs of regular socks in each pocket .

I'd like to say I gave one to each member of the family to put their socks in once they took them off but that would be A Lie .

I second the M&S Supremely Soft. Easily identifiable as they have a totally different texture. And are lovely to wear!

Next girls/boys ones in the biggest size? https://www.next.co.uk/style/st060118/m97754#m97754
They have a few options in black with patterns/colours

Ahh but they’re all different- I will end up with one foot of rainbows and one of stripes you see

I got some in Sainsbury's earlier this year that have patterns on the sole of the foot.

Bonbon21 · 16/07/2024 08:37

Unless wearing open toed shoes (!) does it matter if the socks match as long as all the visible parts are black?

So packs with different coloured/ patterned heels do not NEED to be paired up as long as both socks are either solid colour or patterned.

Just grab any two socks... who is going to notice or care... you could make it a ' thing'!

norasand · 16/07/2024 08:44

A laundry bag is your friend. Look at e.g. Amazon for different sizes. You can get bags big enough for plenty of socks. I did try to issue the kids with each their bag- that didn't go too well. But I popped my own in one and trained the kids and dh to fish out and pair their own. Yay!

dear god. Yes! They must match! Monstrous

Isometimeswonder · 16/07/2024 08:53

M&S men's socks.
I get the smallest size.
Plain black but with coloured toe and heel so not visible.

Irene23784 · 16/07/2024 08:53

You could get several multipacks with different coloured toes then re-sort them so one person gets all the reds and yellows, another all the greens and blues.

purpleme12 · 16/07/2024 08:57

Next have quite a few black socks with little motifs on

albatrossjoe · 16/07/2024 09:31

I got some from Next that just have patterns on the toe and sole, really useful for work and easy to sort into pairs.

JudgeBurrito · 16/07/2024 10:28

What about sport socks, for example Adidas?
