Skin+Me, Dermatica or something else for melasma?

Not had melasma before so I'm not 100% sure this is my issue but I'm just back from holiday and my skin around my mouth is very patchy and dark. I'm was on top of spf, wore a hat and sat in the shade so I'm not sure why this has cropped up all of a sudden. Anyway just wondering what is best, I know skin +Me and Dermatica offer solutions for melasma or is there a better option?

@UpToonGirl speak with your GP , don't buy lots of things to try, melasma can be tricky to deal with and quite resistant

Skin & Me has not helped my dark patches at all. Their dosage is very weak compared to others.

@Shybutrude I don't think my GP would offer much advice, going by past experience! I am trying to find a decent local dermatologist though, I was just hoping for something in the meantime.

@MadKittenWoman thanks for your experience.

@UpToonGirl I didn't think I would get any help either , esp as my Dr was a guy ( hardly ever see the sane Dr at my surgery ,sadly) but he was fantastic and was pleased I had "don't my research"
Fingers crossed
Be very careful with things like laser /plasma pen facials which often get recommended for melasma but can have some shocking results (golf ball skin)
