Has anyone had Permalip removed?

ive had it over 10 years and want to get it removed, but worried how it will look in the weeks following/recovering.

If anyone has photos or happy to share their experiences privately please let me know.

Hey. Did you hear back from anyone?? Have you done anything about your permalip yet?
I’ve had mine 15 years looking to get it removed and have a lip lift maybe

@lippygirl Yes I did!
I actually got a friend (who is a dentist) to remove it. As I had a quote for £1000 from the original surgeon.

A little risky. But it was very simple. Lots of swelling one side. I looked normal again 4 days later and I am over the moon with the results. They are only slightly slightly smaller. But they are soft and don’t have the ridge above/shadow above anymore which I’m happy about.

i plan to have filler done in 10 weeks time (the recommended time to wait after removal)

Update for anyone who in the future reads this post and is considering removing their implant.

I removed it. (Pretty swollen for 3 days) after which it settled nicely. Lips were not saggy at all. They were actually fuller looking than they were naturally. (Possibly as I had a small amount of filler in there too)

10 weeks later I had 0.4ml filler injected top lip only and I’m so happy with my lips now.

Noone else can really see a difference. But I do. My partner does too as they are much softer to kiss.

For context:
Permalip inserted 2012 (age 20/21)
Various HA filler injected ontop over the years
Permalip removed 2024 (age 33)
(Unsure if age makes a difference but there’s no sagging, which is what I was worried about)
