Would you wear this to a wedding?
In autumn.

I hate heels so also trying to figure out shoes... I'd go with gold jewellery so thinking gold shoes... but what works without heels...???

Not sure about black for a wedding. The green would be nice though.

MadameMassiveSalad · 12/07/2024 18:25

Yeah was thinking that, but think that's a bit old fashioned.

The green is nice but it's a different dress really!

Noo look all really isn't appropriate, unless is a very formal black tie affair

mitogoshi · 12/07/2024 18:28

?? Should say black!

bananaboats · 12/07/2024 19:25

I like it! I've worn black to weddings before though, didn't even know it was 'a thing' til I saw it on here!

sleepercellspy · 12/07/2024 19:28

I absolutely love it but I'm not sure I'd wear it to a wedding.

Depends really what type of do it is.

I do agree it's a much more boring dress in the other colours/fabrics so I'd go for something else entirely.

iwouldgoouttonightbut · 12/07/2024 19:31

The blue and green patterned one is gorgeous!

HappierTimesAhead · 12/07/2024 19:34

Lovely dress but I wouldn't wear black to a wedding unless it was winter and I was just attending the evening bit.

BearFacedCheek · 12/07/2024 19:35

I’ve worn black to a wedding before. I don’t see a problem with it at all. It’s a fabulous dress!
I saw some great v flat champagne shoes on Vinted if you’re a size 5. Let me find the link in case you are….

Friendofdennis · 12/07/2024 20:32

It’s a beautiful dress

Sidebeforeself · 12/07/2024 20:44

I love it! Black at a wedding is stylish IMO.

Snippit · 12/07/2024 21:36

I’ve worn a black broderie anglaise dress with a nude lining, it was absolutely stunning. I wore it with a golden bag and shoes (from Shein of all places, really gorgeous). I also wore some of my grandmas vintage aurora borealis jewellery, earrings, necklace and a beautiful broach on my jacket. I got so many compliments on my outfit, especially the jewellery.

It’s so versatile, I have a funeral to attend at the end of the month and I shall be wearing the same dress and jacket, but with dark shoes and bag and appropriate jewellery, it will look so different.

BeFunnyQuail · 12/07/2024 22:14

Wouldnt mind, certainly looks fairly 'new age' !!!

Fabulous dress. Perfect for a wedding. I've worn black to a wedding before and seen plenty of others in black too. Don't see the problem with it.

Gold accessories would look fabulous. How about something like these shoes from Boden?

Love the dress! I’ve worn black to weddings plenty of times. In fact one time when I was a bridesmaid our dresses were black
Wear it with gold or bright pink shoes and you’ll look fab

Cuppapuppa · 13/07/2024 06:48

Not wearing black to a wedding is very outdated & some weddings it’s not usual at all.

AnnieRegent · 13/07/2024 09:18

I think that dress in all colour ways is perfectly wedding appropriate and not in any way “black tie”.

Who decides it’s outdated? Not the older relatives.
