Packing List - 2 week holiday

Going on holiday to Corsica in a few weeks. Staying in a large hotel with pools etc… and will mostly be around pools with DC, a bit of sightseeing and dressing up a bit for the evening. Always overpack. Tend to be quite classic in style. This year I am determined not to…I know I can find lists on the internet but wanted to chat with real people.:)

Also, need a few tops and shorts for reasonable money, where do you tend to go? Am in 40s with 2 DC 9 and 11. Feel a bit set in my ways fashion wise. No washing machine facilities so will have to wear some things more than once.

This is what I am planning on packing:

swimwear - 1 swimming costume. 1 bikini. 1 tankini
1 pool cover up
3 - 4 dresses
2 - 3 pairs shorts
4 - 5 tops
2 skirts (one long and dressy, one walking skirt for day trips with attached skort)
gymwear (planning on doing a bit of exercise while there but we will see!)
underwear
nightwear
one pair Birkenstocks, one pair wedges, flip flops, trainers

Will maybe add a pair of cropped trousers and usually wear yoga pants for flights these days.
Don't really like some of my current swimwear so was maybe going to invest in something from Bravissimo. It’s £££ but I will feel much more confident.

That sounds like serious underpacking to me! I took more changes of tops and shorts when we were on a villa holiday with washing facilities.

Belle lingerie sells swimwear and I've bought bikini separates from there

One pool cover up for 2 weeks will stink after about 4 or 5 days due to sweat and sun cream. If no access to a washing machine, take 2 or 3 or extra shorts and t shirts so when you’ve worn them at night or in a day out, you can then wear as a pool cover up the next day. You’ll need more tops too.

I think you have plenty of bottoms there. You'll be able to wear each item at least twice. 5 tops is probably enough - pool cover ups will often double as day dresses so you'll not wear tops and bottoms as often as you think.

You might need an extra dress, but perhaps not. If you wear the dresses for dinner for only a few hours and manage to not throw food all over yourself, they'll be fine for 2-3 wears each. You could always spot clean any minor stains.

But I'd definitely take at least one extra pool cover up. With daily wearing and especially if you go to the beach they can get pretty grubby.

You'll need something clean to travel home in too, so I think an extra top specifically for that.

Definitely more pool cover ups and a few more outfits for evening.

I buy midi/maxi skits with the yoga style jersey waistband that can double up as strapless pool dresses.

I'd add in a playsuit, a jumpsuit and a couple of camis for evening to wear with your shorts or skirts.

Sounds like overpacking to me. Remember OP, you have to carry it!

Save space to treat yourself to a few new things and bring them back. Finally, if you are travelling with more than one bag, mix the contents. That way, if a bag is lost you can all still get on with your holiday.

Id take more pool cover ups I think. I used 3 over the course of 10 days of a pool/sightseeing holiday.

What I do is actually write a list of outfit combos so I know everything will get worn. Then I take a couple of spares.
I like Cos and ASOS for classic holiday type stuff. Cos have some nice racer back vest maxi dresses in plain colours that are good for a few wears and can be dressed up or down. They also have nice v neck and crew neck t-shirts.

Thank you, everyone. Most helpful.

This. I just had 10 days in a hot climate and was glad I packed 3 pool cover-ups!
