Spot coming up...can I do anything?

For years, every month I would get a spot on my chin. It went away for ages and my skin looks great. Yesterday, i started feeling the stirrings of one under the surface. I'm on holiday so don't have access to much bar a tube of sudocrem. Would it be crazy to think that I can massage the surface and kind of displace whatever gunk is in there, so it doesn't have to erupt on my face! The process has started...any tips that don't involve a trip to a dermatologist or prescription?

I would just put the sudocreme on it over night.

It hasn't come to a head yet though. When my spots come to a head they are horrible and so difficult to cover. I'll put another later on though

Have you got anything with you containing salicylic acid?

TheOGCCL · 10/07/2024 22:34

I use crushed up aspirin to reduce inflammation. I use sudocreme as a carrier to help it stick on. It works most times to stop it in it's tracks.

Oh. I don't have aspirin.. would ibuprofen do the trick?

Toothpaste? Tea tree oil?

Or accept its just a spot and really doesn't matter, forget about it and don't let it ruin your hol?

No, has to be aspirin. If you can’t get that the. Try to get tea tree oil. Toothpaste as a last resort as some say it works but I never had much luck with it. Otherwise if it really matters I’d say drink water, avoid booze and get in the sunshine as your best bet to minimising it.

in future, Drying Lotion is great for stopping big spots before they form. I can’t recall who it’s made by.

When they come to a head they are massive, crusty, very difficult to cover with make up and leave a mark that lasts for months. They also really hurt.

I'll try with a toothpaste and sudocrem combo, thanks.

Gutted sorry to hear that

Also could try steaming your face if you have limited supplies, will help draw it out naturally

Hot water in bowl, stick head over with towel on top of head so the steam gets to u

Newsflash. I massaged the throbbing pain with sudocrem and it's gone away and I don't feel like a spot is going to come up now!

These

Patch Perfect Spot Patches (102... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09RSXRM8M?ref=ppxpoppmobappshare

Freaking amazing. Put on a bump or a spot with a head and leave overnight. You can even wear during the day if working from home, they don't show up on teams calls! Virtually invisible.

They seal the spot, entice the gunk out and when you take it off, the swelling and gunk is pretty much gone. Serious spots may need a couple of applications.

Me and my daughters swear by them. Much cheaper than those 'Starface' ones too which are crap in comparison.
