Waterproof, tough ankle boots

I am looking for my everyday ankle boots for winter. (Hoping to get a bargain as summer, but not imperative)
I would like suede or leather, and wondered if anyone has experience. Not bothered about colour, but they must be waterproof. (I have snow boots, but they are very 'snowy', a bit over the top for drizzly days.

Grenson. If you need them to be waterproof they have a special selection that they claim really are. The rest are fine for wet streets but not sodden fields. (Ask me how I know …) For some reason their boots garner an inordinate amount of compliments - literally strangers stopping you in the street to say how much they like them.

Well, those are the waterproof range, so they should be ok!
