Lightweight very waterproof mascara suggestions please

I don't want one with fibers and heavy formula that promises to thicken and lengthen my lashes, they are too heavy for my 60+ year old face.
My lashes are actually quite long and thick, but poker straight and point downwards. But eyelash curler and waterproof mascara to lock in the curl and they look pretty decent.
I'm currently using L'Oreal Lash Paradise (blue). Very smudgeproof, holds the curl but tube is already a bit claggy after only 2 weeks use.
Don't mind spending around £20 for something lightweight

I used to use the paradise one you mention. I use Rumi one, more expensive but absolutely doesn't budge, If I touch my lashes it doesn't feel like they have anything on either. I'm really impressed, it's over the £20 budget though

I’ve recently discovered Lancôme lash idol volumising waterproof mascara. It’s really good for sensitive eyes, and doesn’t smudge. It’s not too heavy either.

The Korean brand Clio makes a “Kill Lash” which despite it’s name is very good. It has 4: volume, curling, length and volume curling. I’ve just has a bout on excema on my eye and it’s not irritating. It doesn’t have loads of oomph, but it’s pretty. Not heavy but defines the lashes.
I think it’s supposed to be called Killer Lash. 😄

Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof is really good, it will thinly coat your lashes and leave them looking very natural whilst very waterproof.i use it for holidays.
I prefer Beauty Pie for every day here, but I like a thicker formula that holds my lashes after I curl them.

I like the 2000 calorie waterproof version I think it d no 7 ?

Fluffywabbits · 09/07/2024 07:04

I like no7 extreme lengths. I tried Lancôme lash idole after reading the rave reviews but found it very wet.

Waterproof mascara always seems to dry up in the tube very quickly compared to the regular stuff.

I use this 2000 calorie one, it's by Max Factor, because it's the only black-brown one in that price range I've found that doesn't slide straight off my eyes, I find it does go clumpy within a couple of months though so following for more suggestions.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm glad I'm not the only one who wants less ooomph from my mascara!

I hated Lancome Idol and prefer Hypnose.
It's the plastic brush in Idol that doesn't work for me.

There's a thread on Style and Beauty Mumsnet extolling the virtues of L'Oreals new Panorama mascara.
So I bought it.
It doesn't give me amazing lashes like the Chanel Le Volume or Dior Diorshow Pump and Volume I have, so it might suit you better because you don't want heavily mascared lashes.

update to say I grabbed a tube of Maybelline Sky High Black waterproof in my local Savers and it's really good.
I wasn't sure at first about the silicone bristle brush but it works very well. I avoid trying to coat right close to the eyelid as that seems to deposit too much product. but it's great from lid to tips.
It definitely holds a curl but it does take serious oily remover to get it off
