What can I do with my eyebrows? (Pic attached)

They're overplucked so this I'd what I'm left with. I'd love lovely shaped brows. I'm trying to overhaul my look, look after myself a bit better, generally put some effort in. So what do I ask for? HD brows? Microblading? Lamination? I don't like the current trend of big thick brows. I'm 50, petite and very pale. Thanks in advance

Do a google search on local brow specialists and take a look at their Instagrams and send them photos of your brows and ask advice. X

Wrenbird27 · 08/07/2024 13:57

This could be me! I noticed in photos in the last few months that my eyebrows are very faint. I've started using eyebrow pencil every day. And my beautician recommended getting them tinted which I might do. Am interested in other ideas.

CultureAlienationBoredomandDespair · 08/07/2024 14:01

You look like you have brows, they’re just a little fair and sparse. I’d suggest a tint and shape/ trim of any stragglers and then a brow pen/pencil/ powder to strengthen your arch a touch.

foodtoorder · 08/07/2024 14:03

I would go to a salon and ask for a consultation, get their advice and options.
Maybe start with professional shaping and tinting before committing to microblading etc.
some regular colour and shaping might be all that's needed to make you feel better about them.

Iwantamarshmallowman · 08/07/2024 14:37

I would start with a thred and tint. They will definitely look more groomed without being too drastic or adding too much bulk, and its no permanent.

PrincessMee · 08/07/2024 17:59

I also agree. Get someone to give you a shaping and possibly a tint. Use clear eyebrow gel to hold them in place. Use an eyebrow growth gel at night to encourage growth.

SuperGinger · 08/07/2024 18:21

If you do get a tint, ask for a light tint, you don't want them to be abnormally dark and ask for shaping but they need to keep it natural with no square bits as those are ugly. You look pretty

Ohhhthedrama · 08/07/2024 18:26

I have a regular shape & tint and use a brow gel. I'm nervous of anything permanent like micro blading because if it turns out crap you're stuck with it.

ProfessorPeppy · 08/07/2024 18:31

I do my own brows. I use Refectocil dark brown dye and developer from eBay (can’t remember name!). I do it around once a month. They’re naturally fair so need extra definition.

I also use Rimmel Brow This Way to give them a bit of definition and shape. I always apply more wax/powder to the ends and leave the bridge of the nose a bit sparser to give the HD effect.

(I’m 43 for info so also overplucked back in the day!)

Sorry that pic is very close up and unruly! They look good when I’m not right up in your face Grin

That’s a matter of opinion. They may be technically well done (I couldn’t say) but I think it’s a very harsh and dated look.

littleapplecottage · 08/07/2024 20:56

Start with a tint see if you feel that improves the balance of your face.
You can always go for micro blading etc if you feel you need more once you have lived with tinted brows for a bit.

I feel my micro bladed brows (mine are natural looking compared to the linked insta account) help the proportion of my face and they mean I look less tired, more youthful and I don't feel I need makeup just to leave the house. But that's me and I don't think it's right for everyone

It's powder brow's you choose the shape also it's depends of your original brows shape some the want big brows and some want thin.

I have my eyebrows and lips done save so much time , only you have to re teach after2 and half years.

LizzeyBenett · 08/07/2024 21:32

Micro blading but don't skimp on it I got mine done to add more shape and an arch to mine totally worth it but make sure you do your research and go with someone reputable

GettingStuffed · 08/07/2024 22:15

They're a lot thicker than mine, I don't really grow body hair. If I do them I use an eyebrow pencil to cover the gaps. If you get the colour right it looks natural.

AnOldCynic · 08/07/2024 22:21

I personally think your brows look better than a lot of the artificial brows I see.
Saw my mate last night and had to bite my lip rather than ask her what the fuck she had done.

Some suggestions on here regarding brow pencil etc I think are the way to go. Googling brow tints and they look too heavy.

AmelieTaylor · 08/07/2024 22:25

Ndemikwa · 08/07/2024 18:38

Yuck.

who wants oily drawn on comedic eye brows. They are revolting.

@Feckinlego leave the poor little things alone.

Feckinlego · 09/07/2024 03:43

Thank you all you've been very helpful. I'll go for tinting and shaping I think. I'd love a lovely shaped arch but I'm very scared of those big thick brows with very square edges! At least I know what to ask for now.

I think microblading can change colour (to ginger/red) and it's a lengthy, expensive process with lasers to try and remove it. Look on Reddit microblading. They seem like a big risk, and might end up like the truly awful ones being recommended by someone on this thread! I think a tint and thread is a good place to start.

GogAndMagog · 09/07/2024 04:46

Try rosemary oil to encourage growth.
I have been encouraged at how well it works.

If you want to tint at home, use beard dye.

Tinkerbot · 09/07/2024 05:24

I have an old olive colour eye pencil (no longer available) from body shop. - pencils are often too dark or too orange. A soft colour works best for me.

Ndemikwa · 09/07/2024 12:45

@ AmelieTaylor you need to the difference between powder brows and microblading? Before telling people off!
Lady was asking about Microblading and other things.
I suggested powder brows if you know you know also it's not for everyone one if you have busy schedule and travel a lots powder brows it way to go save so much time .
Have a lovely day
